Biography

Names Without Numbers is a four-piece rock and roll band from Council Bluffs, IA / Omaha, NE. Since forming in the summer of 2000, we have strived to bring our music and message to the masses. Through universal tales of love, love lost, friendship, and personal conflict, the band also exposes what we believe to be deeper, underlying spiritual truths. Most of all, we want to show love and encourage listeners to think for themselves and follow their own personal convictions.

Stylistically, we play a unique blend of indie-rock with plenty of raw emotion and pop-punk energy. Some bands with a comparable style include Jimmy Eat World, Weezer, Thursday, and many others.

It isn't clear what the future will hold for Names Without Numbers, but until a discernable end is in sight, we will continue to expand our musical abilities and continue to cultivate and mature our writing style as we keep rocking and rolling across the region.

Lyrics

Stars Between Stations

Written By: nameswithoutnumbers/John Hearn

calculating space from the stars to your receiver
a miracle as vast as time
but we're not tuned in enough to see it

notes sent from home

somewhere in the sound of the static lies an answer
we ignore as we turn the dial
is there comfort in our ignorance

The Fourth

Written By: nameswithoutnumbers/John Hearn

we used to talk like we could stay inside these lines forever
but in time the boundries cracked
never thought that we would see the bean town win your favor
will you be coming back

we'll throw some tea into the river
to comemorate your move
but boston's not the place for you

the arguments would prove to separate a vision
or postpone it for a while
so learn the law and love it as long as you can see
that boston's not your style

and when you sound just like the kennedys
it will only go to prove
that bostons not the place for you

Waking from the Coma

Written By: nameswithoutnumbers/John Hearn

i turned my back just once
for once i didn't care
my heart was never there till the knife cut through
and now i lie so still
no one detects a sound
but screams within my head are louder now it's true

the blood is on my hands
but i can't understand
why the color seems to fade

i sought forgiveness once
discressions in my youth
led to apologies of love abused
and now i'm back again
like countless times before
torn apart i pray my life can still be used

the devil twists my arm to stab my own back
