""Refreshing dynamic folk band""

"What can be said about the Backyard Betties? They're a refreshingly dynamic folk band with inspiring beats and an engaging leader. Love to hear them play!" - Sara Dasko: Booking Agent

""Great enertainment""

"Nancy Laberge is a high energy force in motion, with Sarah's driving background beats and Nancy's lyrics the songs are sassy and fun. From the moment the music starts an urge travels to your foot to get tapping and if your body doesn't start moving immediately you better check your pulse! Great entertainment and a wonderful evening of fun and laughs with well crafted songs and lively stage patter!"
- Bruce Dynes, Medicine Hat Folk Music Club Singer Songwriter Night Chair.

"Some of the finest music I've played on my program." - Tom Coxwoth CKUA, Folk Roots

""Kick ass song""

"I'm proud of my radio station for allowing me to add a GREAT song which was totally off the radar, from an indie songwriter that didn't intend to release a song to radio. Sometimes, when someone creates something truly AWESOME you just gotta share it with the world. Congrats Nancy Laberge and Troy Kokol, as we add Like A Train today and THANK YOU to both for creating a kick ass song"
- Cory Noel Announcer/Music Director at 96.5 CKFM - All Hit Country

"Nancy's very presence brightens a room..."

"Nancy's very presence brightens a room and when you put a microphone in front of her you are guaranteed an evening of enthusiastic entertainment. The music is fresh and has an original sound. A performer/performance not to be missed. And, she is a pleasure to work with." - Darla Sawatsky Bookings Director Medicine Hat Folk Music Club

Still working on that hot first release.

Nancy Laberge is a diverse folk singer/songwriter with a top spot on Canada’s musical horizon. At a young age, and sitting at the helm of a six string, Nancy began songwriting as solace which allowed her to escape into a world where mothers didn’t drink, good always won and there was a way out of a small town life. Laberge left her small town and got a diploma in music at Red Deer College of Arts. She then joined the highly acclaimed country/roots group for five years, Mississippi Steamboat and joined the trio No Strings Attached.  In 2009 Nancy formed Backyard Betties and together they played folk festivals, showcases, house concerts weddings, fundraisers. In 2012, 2103 the band showcased at the Folk Alliance via the Bow Valley Music Club. This year, Nancy performed Oh Canada at the Saddledome at the Calgary Hitmen game in support of the Shriners Children’s Hospital Foundation – a cause very close to her heart.

Nancy’s success of original work on radio spans from coast to coast. Her record “Write From The Heart”, released in 2014 received airplay on CKUA and CBC, and held the #1 spot on Songwriter FM for over 4 weeks. Her songs ‘I Want You Back’ and ‘Holy Moly’, a christmas song are played in heavy rotation.

Laberge believes in “playing it forward”. When she was twelve years old she became very sick with a rare tumor. Her family could not afford the cost for her to receive treatment in Toronto where the specialized and necessary care was available. The Shriners learned about her circumstances, and generously supported the cost for her and two family members to go to Toronto so could receive the life saving surgery she needed. Nancy is extremely grateful for the Shriners care and support, and she now raises money for the organization by donating a portion of her cd sales, volunteering and performing at events. In 2014 , she went on tour with her band to five Shriners Hospitals For Children throughout Canada and the USA to perform for the kids and to raise money for the organization. The proceeds of her Christmas song, Holy Moly go to the organization.
