Bio

Nancye Blair has been involved in the central Florida music scene for the last decade. From 1998 to 2002, she worked with venues and local bands in booking and management. Later, she played with artists Andrew Sistrunk and the band Lona, supporting with acoustic and bass guitar and singing back-up for several years.

Despite her love for the guitar and collaborating with others, in 2006 Blair found herself at a crossroads. Unsure of the direction her life was taking, Blair turned to her piano as an outlet and found her perfect fit as she began writing her own soulful piano-based songs. As she began to strike out on her own, early comparisons to Norah Jones and Fiona Apple earned her local attention and encouraged her to branch out to bigger venues.

Over the last two years, Nancye Blair has played for various events throughout Florida, supporting the "One" Poverty Awareness Event in Orlando, FL, and opening up for events like The Rocky Horror Picture Show in Lakeland, FL. Featured at such venues as the 210 Club in Lakeland, FL and The Social, The Plaza Theater, Central Station Rock Bar, and Underground Bluz in Orlando, Blair developed a solid following as a solo act. In the fall of 2009, Nancye Blair was joined by talented musicians, Steven Behr on drums and David Leslie on bass. The trio had immediate success in Lakeland and recently played The Backbooth in Orlando. They have been chosen as the featured musical guest for the upcoming Platform Art Show in Lakeland, FL and are looking forward to further opportunities to play across Florida.

In addition to her original music, Nancye Blair also plays local acoustic cover nights at coffee shops, restaurants, and bars, sometimes providing a combination of both covers and originals. The stage is where she feels at home and she's always looking for opportunities to play!
