CMA singer Nancy J. performed at 3 PM at the first Clay May Days on May 6 on the field at Clay-Chalkville High School. A native of Guntersville, AL, she produced her first album, Welcome to the Good Life, in 1999. She sent it to A.M.I. Records to see what would happen and landed a contract with the record label. She has seen great success in that she now has three Top-10 Nationally Charted (Inside Country) hits and has just released (April 06) her first international single, SWEET TALKIN' THE WALLS!
Lori Hart, the Clay Chamber of Commerce Entertainment Chairperson indicated that the folks were quite impressed with Nancy J. and her band.

Nancy J. is a Southern Belle with an attitude! Her singing talks about relationships, life on the farm, Saturday night hoe-downs, honky-tonks and the daily life of most folks. You know she's the real thing when you hear the passion and genuine feelings she expresses in her singing, her unique way of reaching out and tugging on each person's heart strings...causing them to laugh, cry, say "YeeHaw" or just sit back and enjoy the serenity of the moment. Other times she will "turn up the heat" and make ya wanna dance, shout and celebrate. You "feel the music" as Nancy J. and her New Southern Fury Band keeps the music flowing and tempo growing. From the first note played, you know you are on a musical journey. You almost immediately know that Nashville has come to you, then you feel yourself move to Mama's place, check out the city then come back. As the music flows, you find yourself lost in the past, suddenly back in the present then you "take a peek" at the future...returning to the starting point refreshed yet happily tired and looking for more!
Nancy J. and her New Southern Fury Band have found their influences to include such greats as those listed in our song list sets but most importantly our influences are our journey through life and our fans. We are committed to our fans because they make us who we are.
