Bio

Born on Oct, 17th, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, a city most known for its mafia assassinations and drug cartels. Having Uncles that were LT’s in the Mexican Mafia all Fernando knew was how to move and sell drugs by the age of 8 years old. Then when the heat came down on Fernando’s family they were forced to migrate to the USA to avoid prosecution from Mexican authorities. Even though they left Mexico everything his uncles taught about the “game” would mold a lifestyle for Fernando that would influence his life forever.
The year is 1998 and the 8 year old Fernando Salinas finally gets out of the hospital due to a flu complication that left him dead for a good 2 minutes, being hospitalized for a week Fernando Salinas starts to write to pass the time. Not thinking anything of it, he walks out the hospital a changed kid. “Ever since that day I walked out that hospital I changed to a more mature version of myself.” Quickly going back to school he started doing the same thing at school that he did at the hospital. After many years he got moved from his Texas home to Iowa. At 12 he evolved from writing nonsense to writing poetry. Being influenced from the racial tension between his Mexican friends and the white kids at his school, after that time Fernando was now known as Nando. Nando wrote his first song “Revenge, a song dedicated to the people who had been targeting him for his race. It became the eye opener his friends needed to take him seriously. As soon as he got his friends to back him they formed a clique and called it “M.I.A,” for Mexican Invasion’s Assasins. At School they were feared and on the streets they were respected, they started hustling, moving cds and anything they could get their hands on. Nando was the more gifted out the bunch, in making money, so he invested in a dj system that he would soon turn into a make shift studio and thus Nando’s music career began.
But, just as it began it also ended when Nando’s family had to move back to Texas, where after being there again for only a month back his friend was murdered right in front of him while being in the same car. Nando went back to hustling to support his family and guarantee a passage back to the north in order to meet back up with his soldiers. He finally made enough to go Ohio. Nando was back on track to start making music again, by buying a computer he started making beats and putting himself and his clique on several songs. “In all honesty the songs weren’t even remotely close to good but because we had a following from the school and hustling we pushed about 50 cds a day.’ Then out of nowhere Nando had to travel all around the Country due to his family’s problems in looking for jobs, he traveled from New York to California and from Iowa to Texas, he was everywhere. For that reason you can detect a lot of different styles in Nando’s music. Now residing in Ohio Nando was already booked on opening slots like Paul Wall’s and Tech N9ne’s Fire and Ice tour. Nando has been featuring in numerous shows from Sandusky’s Underground to Findlay’s Miss Cue and Lima’s Harry’s Hideaway. With a kid two jobs and school Nando has accomplished so much at only 20 years of age.
