Bio

The songs that I feel the most attached to are the ones that come unintentionally. Not when I’m searching for a melody or lyrics, but when I’m least prepared for what I’m about to receive. Like when I’m driving & I have to grab the paper bag next to me to scribble these lyrics out on. Or when I’m in the shower & don’t quite get all the shampoo out in order to make it to my voice recorder before I loose the bad-ass “hook” I just came up with. And although, it only happened a couple of times, the melodies that I wake up with in the middle of the night, I’m truly thankful for.
I first started writing melodies when I was in grade school. I went to a religious school & memorizing bible verses was mandatory. I often had trouble remembering, word for word, how they were to be recited until I began to put melodies to them. I still remember the first one I put a melody to “The grass may wither and the flowers may fade but the word of God will last forever...” – (snappin the fingers, very jazzy/blues kind of vibe)
Throughout my life I would continue to write melodies and lyrics but it wasn’t until early 2006 that I would be able to materialize the songs that have haunted my mind for years. As fate would have it, I met Curtis Grubb. (lead singer of Grasshopper Takeover and local producer of Crash Recording) I expressed to him the desire release the melodies in my mind. So, I started to sing one of my songs, he picked up his guitar & WA-POW! We connected! I had worked with a few other producers in the past but no one was ever able to hear what I could hear, or see the true potential in my song ideas. This last year we’ve laid down about five songs, with a few others in the beginning stages. Although this is only scratching the surface of the many songs that I’ve written, it’s a great start to the opportunities that await me.
