a carefully planned accident

Biography

Brooklyn, NY -- Since their inception one year ago, NaNuchKa has been blazing a hot trail through the New York City club scene. Their members drawn from local cult favorites World/Inferno Friendship Society and Guignol, this trio of two Israelis and one American has a strong chemistry that's evident from the moment they hit the stage.Bass player and lead vocalist Yula's theatrical flare is complemented by the raw, rocking simplicity of Roy Gurel's guitar, and classically trained drummer John Bollinger spurs the band along with just the right mixture of precision and reckless abandon. Citing influences ranging from Rachmaninoff to David Bowie, Kate Bush to Aris San, NaNuchKa explodes on stage with tremendous energy musicality and rare sincerity.

By night, NaNuchKa has been honing their live show at NYC rock staples Such as Pianos, Mercury Lounge, Sin-e, and The Delancey, but by day, they've been in the recording studio, crafting the tracks for their debut album “A Carefully Planned Accident”, set for release June 21, featuring their own deft combination of rock, punk and middle-Eastern.

CD package comes across as a complete art show in and of itself: 11 tracks, 11 stories, and 11 original artworks by 11 different artists are included. For those who have witnessed NaNuchKa's boisterous live show, this album does not disappoint. It's a snapshot of a band that's discovered the essence of itself-while giving the audience an idea that there's much, much more to come. Plans are in being made for their first tour, so expect to see NaNuchKa blow your scene out of the water soon!
