Few adolescents know what their passion is nor are they able to build a realistic plan to achieve there ultimate goal. This was not the case for the London born Saint John bred Emcee NapzMeka. At the age of 6 he was dissecting popular hip hop songs and re-writing them with his own words. This not only shows the young man caught the artist bug early it also indicates he's always been studious with his music. At the age of 13 Napz joined forces with east coast heroes Phakt and Expedyte(now of the hip-hop funk infused band "Three Sheet")as well as others to form the group Sworn Allies. This gave the rapper who's birth name Meka Ikejiani a footing in the east coast scene and he has been building since grabbing national and international spotlight with a slew of impressive feature slots. The rappers ability to change styles manipulate flows allows him to easily rhyme over any subject and any style with conviction. The sometime conscious sometime party and sometime gritty punchline artist showcases this talent very well over his new release "U R Now Tuned In" in collaboration with soulful beats, near perfect timing and sharp witty delivery the artist rolls through topics such as race relations with in the black community to relationships while setting the party off before switching pace to satire society. At times sounding like a Northern Common meets Wale meets Nas meets Lupe Fiasco. Which ever style Napz chooses to adopt it is guaranteed to be executed with the up most conviction and passion.
