Lyrics

Little Town

Written By: Narissa Bond

Verse
I came here to this little town,
little town
Never meant to settle down,
settle down
Just to get away from the big city
I gave myself an artist holiday
I ran to the ocean to laugh and play
But I miss my friends back home in the big city

Chorus
Driving through these winding roads
Feeling free and feeling alone
I am lost and I am found
In this little town, little town

Verse
I came here to this little town,
little town
I met a girl and she broke me down, broke me down
I never paid so dearly for love
When I picked myself off
of the ground
A sad pretty face caught my eye and turned me around
So I offered my hand and my heart

Chorus

Verse
Tender eyes and an innocent heart
I knew I loved her right from the very start
Now this little town shines so brightly
I came here to this little town,
little town
I never meant to settle down, settle down
Just to get away from the big city

I Can

Written By: Narissa Bond

Verse
Down the road and across the way
Is the house you live in, where you stay
I’m drinking my coffee on the other side of town
I can feel you near though you’re not around
Your life is busy, no beginnings or end
Sometimes I wonder where I fit in
I can hang around here, I’ve got a little time
To win your heart and make you mine

Chorus
I can dream of you in my darkest night
If my dreams come true it would be so fine
I can show you love you’ve never known
I can share with you this heart of gold
Yes I can

Verse
I prayed to God to bring someone like you
Now you are here I don’t know what to do
I want to hear your voice, want to talk to you
But I’ll wait for your call and try to stay cool
My heart beats strong when you look at me
Does yours beat as strongly for me
I believe you and I can go a long way
I’ll be yours forever ask me to stay

Chorus

Three Words

Written By: Narissa Bond

Verse
Three a.m. early in the morning
Standing at the foot of the stairway
The streetlight lights up your eyes
You’re looking at me and I smile
We look into each other’s eyes
My heart skips a beat it’s no surprise
You touch my face with your hand
Kiss me deeply and I understand
Ahh, ahh, ahh, hmm, hmm, hmm

Lift
We try to say goodbye
But we don’t want to say goodnight
Then we talk into the night
That’s alright

Chorus
Sweet dreams, goodnight
I’ll see you real soon
And yes there are three words
I want to say to you
Sweet dreams, goodnight
And yes hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm

Verse
The first time I held your hand
I was flying high and I could not land
There was something so real and true
As we stood close together in your living room
Then you placed your hand against my breast
I could feel my heart beating through my chest
When I looked into your eyes I knew
Three words I could not say to you
Ahh, ahh, ahh, hmm, hmm, hmm

Lift

Chorus

Bridge
We lay together in each others arms
You kissed and moved with your charms
You told me I was the one
We held each other watch the setting sun

Lift

Chorus
And yes there are three words
I want to say to you
Sweet dreams, goodnight
And yes I love you
Yes I do, yes I do
Yes I do, yes I do

Grocery Store

Written By: Narissa Bond

Verse
I punch the time clock, I’m late again
I was up late playing music
Yes, I burn the candle at both ends
The guys I work with are alright
A sensitive one named John
Tells me about his love life
I need some coffee I grab a cup
To help me get through this work day
And keep my mind sharp
I put on my hat, walk through the door
Check the number tally and say
May I help number twenty-four

Lift
In this right the work state
We are part of the working poor
The man won’t give me a fifty cent raise
But he just spent ten thousand dollars
On an Italian tile floor

Chorus
One, two, three, four
Numbers roll up to a hundred and even more
Five, six, seven, eight
May I help you, have a nice day

Verse
My back is aching, my feet are tired
I had to take a few moments
When that mean lady made me cry
The boss man says, are you having a nice day
When I’m working two jobs
Cause he doesn’t pay a living wage
Sometimes I feel like an animal in a cage
Pacing back and forth behind this counter
Under the customers waiting gaze
I say be patient just wait your turn
In this life you got to learn to give a little in return

Lift

Chorus

Bridge
Some folks are sweet and kind
Some folks are sad and alone
And just need enough for one
One lady calls everyone sweetie, honey, darling
Her words light up this room like the sun

Verse
Folks like that help you get through the day
Cause they understand how hard you work for your pay
Look at the clock it’s five to seven
The perfect end to a nine hour day

Lift

Chorus

Unexpected

Written By: Narissa Bond

Verse
Dark eyes, chocolate skin, waiting arms
Cayenne spice warming a cool heart
Awaken embers by the wind feeding this fire
So unexpected this desire

Verse
Rose petals floating on a dream
Love’s passion too extreme
We could not hold back the tide
So unexpected this desire

Verse
Moonlight dancing in your eyes
Love’s fever running high
Unspoken language of the soul and all it’s power
So unexpected this desire

Bridge
As I turned around to walk away
I felt the warmth of the sun, it was your gaze
Then I reached out to touch fortunes hand
And embrace the blessings of your love and a new chance

Verse
Bodies stirring with the dawn
Sleepy, smiling, but gazing far
Past horizons far into a new born sky
So unexpected this desire

With These Two Hands

Written By: Narissa Bond

With These Two Hands
Words and lyrics by Narissa Bond

We will build the houses
The flood waters tore down
We will shore up the levies
On the poor side of town

We can heal the sick
With access to all
Not just treat their symptoms
When we hear the call

With these two hands
We can save the world
With these two hands
We can save the world

We can take care of Mother Earth
We can handle her with care
Stop polluting her waters
And polluting her air

We can heal this home
With thoughtfulness and love
Let the power of light
Shine through our bodies and souls

With these two hands
We can save the world
With these two hands
We can save the world

Sometimes I feel helpless
As the war rages on
So I pray for peace
To God above

I will carry the signs
Of Peace and Love
And let the power of light
Shine through my body and soul

With these two hands
We can save the world
With these two hands
We can save the world
