"Chestnut Ridge Brothers Shake, Rattle and Roll as Musical Group N.A.S.H."

Bryan, Joe and James Nash are dedicated to the world of rock and roll music and have been playing together for the past 10 years in Rockland and vicinity including gigs at the Hudson Water Club in Haverstraw, D&D’s in New City, La Cantina in Valley Cottage and other venues in Pearl River. They are now booking for the fall season.

Bryan, frontman for the band said, “We were trying in early days to find out should we be Emo? Death metal? Or what the hell? So we decided the hell with definitions and picked up our stuff, thought of the past masters who made us shake, rattle and roll and just started to play and N.A.S.H. lives up to that ideal.”

Bryan says if you are in the mood for solving impossible puzzles, come up for air and give a listen to this band. Joe, who plays bass, said the first time he played the role of rocker was in a Spring Valley High School talent show performing “For Whom The Bells Toll” by Metallica. He took time off for college while his brothers continued on and then rejoined the band for good and a return of rock and roll.

James, on the drums, said the band played hole in the wall bars and lots of underground music festivals as well as the popular CBGB’s, with the audience cheering for the music he loves. He takes inspiration from rock drummers such as John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Lars Ulrich (Metallica) and the late great wild man Keith Moon( The Who).

"North Jersey Music: N.A.S.H."

N.A.S.H.
If you are in the mood for solving impossible puzzles, big guitars and extreme performances with only a few seconds to come up for air, it's time you give a listen to this banD's music and try to come up with a dEfinition.

According to N.A.S.H's front man, BryAn Nash, "We just got real tired of Trying to figure out should we be emo? deatH metal? or what the hell?? So; we just decided the hell with definitiOns. We picked up our stuFf, thought of the past masters who made us shake, Rattle and rOll and just started to play." And N.A.S.H. lives up to that ideal.

N.A.S.H. is a band dediCated to playing loud, long, dirty and every other adjective that describes good old time rocK. They believe that the best thing they can give to their fans is good music. The bANd wreaks havoc in Rockland County, New York from the basement of the Nash householD. Bryan's crunchy guitaRs and gut punching vocals seem biOchemicaLly designed to reach into your nervous system and send it into overLoad. Joe Nash is the newest edition to the group. His bass playing fits well with the band and Joe is just enough off center to be able to survive. James Nash rounds out the trio on the drum set. James kicks his drum heads with a force designed to detonate a nuclear warhead. You gotta see him to believe it.

N.A.S.H has plenty of original songs; but at bars N.A.S.H. likes to play covers from the following bands: Sublime, Billy Joel, Hinder, AC/DC, Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Skynard, The Who, Guns n Roses, The Beatles, The Cranberries, Garth Brooks, Shinedown, Alice in Chains, Collective Soul, Live, Black Sabbath, Eminem, Daughtry, R.E.M., U2, Puddle of Mud, Fastball, Dishwalla, Tom Petty, Radiohead, Metallica, Kiss, Coheed and Cambria, Green Day, Weezer, System of a Down, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Breaking Benjamin... - North Jersey Music

"Indie Band Of The Week - N.A.S.H."

From the studio to the stage, Rockland County New York’s own, N.a.s.H, never fails to kick your ass. How it is possible for such a big sound to be coming from only three people I don’t even know. Every moment of the music is raw – it’s real, and it’s personal. Brothers James, Joe, and Bryan Nash formed N.a.s.H in 2001, and have kept the music strong to this day.

Dedicated toward keeping it alive, the brothers live, eat, and breathe Rock N’ Roll. Listening to any one of the songs from the band’s most recent release Regain the High Ground, will leave a lasting impression, carved uniquely by every single member of the band. Frontman Bryan Nash explores every crevice of his voice to deliver a wide range of emotion perfectly balanced with the sweet melody and chaos that is his guitar playing. They say the bass in Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine” is so melodic that you can practically sing it; and that is exactly what bassist Joe Nash captures on the album, along with a groovy soul-funk inspired bass like something right out of Seinfeld. Drummer James Nash perfectly completes this trio of terror with a massive drum sound, sonically filling the landscape with every inch of drum-shredding pure awesomeness.

Forged in each of their own ways by the struggles and blessings in life, Joe, Bryan, and James have each found a strong passion and love for music. While the music means everything to them, it means the world to their fans; and delivering more is exactly what this band intends to do. Sharing their music to fans everywhere is the greatest gift, and they have no plans of stopping. Through years of dedication, N.a.s.H has proven themselves to the world. Their hard work, dedication, and passion have created the foundation for a band who will soon take over the world, righteously earning them the title of RockRevolt Magazine’s Indie Band of the Week. - Rock Revolt Magazine

Bio

N.A.S.H. is made up of three brothers from just outside New York City in Rockland County, NY. Their story starts like any other, from tortured guitar sounds coming from a dark basement to a dream of bringing their music to the world. N.A.S.H. began with a man in his late 40's on drums, the father that encouraged the boys to play and got them gigs in bars that would allow underage kids come in and give their dream a go. From there, the boys played venues all over the tri state area, from bars to colleges to private parties to fundraisers. Gigs ran from far north near the Canadian border opening up for Third Eye Blind at a college spring festival to the infamous CBGB's in New York City to a private party in North Carolina. As young men, they received a nice pat on the back from the fans who came in to see the two younsters and old man playing "Black Sabbath" on a late saturday night. Almost 10 years later, they now receive screams for more. Within those 10 years, the band saw changes in lineup as Joe went to college and James took on the mantle of the drums. In those years, many came and went, and Joe returned. In the end, the N.A.S.H. you see now is how it was meant to be.

Bryan Nash, guitarist and vocalist for the band, spent his time after school working in a music store and honing his skills on the guitar. Years prior, his elementary school teacher saw talent in his voice, and suggested he be part of a children's choir that would compete to be on Broadway. Luckily for N.A.S.H., this did not work out, and he was able to be the frontman for this band of brothers.

Joe Nash, the oldest of the three, returned from college with a new passion to play in the band. His time away was spent realizing that this is what he wanted to do, to drop bass lines into a massive crowd who was singing a tune he helped create. It was not about money and fame, but about doing something he loved, and entertaining a crowd.

James Nash, the youngest of the three, began learning the drums in the shadow of papa Nash. At first, it was hard to keep up with a band that already had such a momentum, but in not too much time, he was slowly gaining an incredible talent while losing his mind, which is apparent when you see him play. To watch him now inspires awe.

With N.A.S.H., there is a song for everyone. There is a love song, there is a hate song. There is a song to dance to, and a song to bang your head to. N.A.S.H.'s motto is "Use Your Voice", which isn't a plea to sing necessarily, but to express your feelings and desires through music. It is picking your favorite N.A.S.H. song and putting yourself in the band, to make yourself part of the experience. It is telling the world what YOU want, and not letting others dictate what you should be listening to. N.A.S.H. considers them to potential saviors of an art form that seems to have taken a back burner, when it is still a medium people desire. Rock isn't dead, it's just sleeping, and it's time to wake it up.
