Natalia Arroyo - Voice, violin and jarana
Sergio MedranoÑ jarana
Mike Sandoval: Bass
Adrian Molina: Drums and latin percussion

Born in Ensenada, Baja California, Natalia is a compulsive
traveler, memory collector and lover of details.  With 20 years of musical experience, her
first discography production as a soloist, La
vereda
(the road) witnesses her great talent and versatility as violinist,
composer, singer and arranger. The production of this record was in the hands
of Luca Ortega and Natalia Arroyo, herself.

La vereda is a collage of
images and experiences of the authors life, involving songs that praise life
or that express goodbyes. Musically, her work is
influenced by Mexican northern music, bluegrass and latin rythms, a fusion which results in an
alternative proposal with the acoustic characteristics of traditional
music, as a mixture of her Mexican roots.
Natalia is accompanied by internationally standing musicians in the
saxophone, accordion, jarana, percussions, bass and guitar.

The
songs of this record have been composed and recorded with the support of
CONACULTA (National Council of Art and Culture), under the category of creators
with artistic trajectory.

Natalia
has performed in important stages and musical festivals around the world, such as
the Smithsonian Folk Festival 2009 in Washington, D.C.; the Music Festival in Pretoria, South Africa, the Autumn Festival in
Paris, France, the Verk&Verkhart festival in Austria, the Music Festival in
Bogot, Colombia, Arts Festival in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; and the
International Festival of Music in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In
Mexico, her perfomances include stages such as the Teatro de la Ciudad, Sala
Nezahualcyotl, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Festival Internacional de Msica en
Zacatecas, among many others.
She has participated in 5 discographic productions: Son De Madera (violinist
and singer), Cesar Olguins Mexican Tango Orchestra, as first violin, Eugenia
Len, as a violinist, Claudia Calderns Piano Xarocho, violinist; and in the Tierra
Mestiza Ensambe with Gerardo Tamez.
In
2009, the BBC Radio of London,
dedicated a program to her work as a soloist. In 2008, Germn Dehesa, one the
most appraised writers in Mexico, expressed that the if he would write in the
same form as Natalia performed the violin, he would have won the Nobel Price.
In
september, 2013, Natalia attended for the third time the prestigious public tv
program Conversando con Cristina Pacheco,
where Cristina described Natalias work as one of the most fresh and
interesting musical porposals in our country nowadays.
