Bio

Born the eldest of six sisters, Natalie Cadét (pronounced Kŭh-dāy) began her musical journey singing in church at the age of four. In 1990, she and her five sisters formed the young Christian singing group, Cadét Sisters. Performing in churches, concert halls, Christian radio and TV networks around the US.

Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Oakwood University and a Master’s degree in Contemporary Improvisation from New England Conservatory, Natalie transformed her angelic vocal artistry and songwriting skills into ingenious jazz-pop compositions sprinkled with a little R&B flavor.  Although a natural soprano, Natalie’s vocal range spans three octaves. This amazing vocal dexterity is displayed in the 5 to 6-part background vocals she lays down.

She released her solo album in 2016, which is a collection of original songs and arrangements. Titled, My Journey, this project takes the listener on an introspective mind travel of phases in her life that brought her from rock bottom to her eventual discovery of freedom and healing though music. Her first single, Dear Depression, highlights her struggle with the disease, and her resolve to be liberated from it.

Natalie’s talents continue to evolve as she expands her vision as an artist. Currently, she is one of the principle songwriters for a project titled, Rush Through History. This 45 song project traces the Blues genre from it’s African roots, down to its musical offspring: Jazz, funk, Hip Hop, and more.  She’s also an instructor at Musicians Institute, and is exploring composition and scoring for film and TV.
