My music is certainly created for direct interaction with an audiences. At the core is a strong sense of storytelling and there is a new adventure to be shared with each song. It is basically pop music, with a theatrical vibe and infectious melodies.

Biography

At the ripe old age of 21, Sydney’s northern beaches born and raised Natasha Kavanagh has leapt into a music career with impressive talent, passion, and luckily- a sense of humour. Her voice has the warmth, vibrancy and range of a seasoned performer. Combined with her desire to write and create music and her prowess as a dancer, Natasha is wildly entertaining.
The purity of voice and movement has developed through training with some of the best talent in Australia by graduating as the youngest student from the N.I.D.A music theatre program 2005, at the age of 17.
Known and loved as front person of Sydney show band, Venus, Natasha has choreographed successful stage shows for the corporate market, using knowledge and skill gained through 17 years, dance training in Ballet (Advanced 1), Jazz, Tap and Contemporary. This has lead to an overseas tour showcasing her music.
Natasha has loved entertaining all sorts of interesting audiences over NSW, performing for such venues (to name a few) as Sydney Harbours James Craig Tall Ship- New Years Eve, Telstra Stadium-David Beckham soccor match, Charity events (‘Cure for Life Foundation’), ‘Packed to the Rafters’ cast &crew wrap party, and has made a strong impression playing resident gigs in Australian Alpine Hotels and Chalets.
Whether it be to dance like a maniac, to indulge or discover a new perspective, Natasha’s music draws upon a rich history of influences to welcome you in.
Playing by ear since, well, forever, Tash has been and continues to be fascinated by the way an original piece of music comes together, whether a whole song comes in 5 min while in the car (forcing it to be desperately written on a shopping docket) or a wonderfully intense session with the piano, concocting and brewing the next creation.

Lyrics

Love Drug

Written By: Natasha Kavanagh

Love Drug

Verse 1:
Why does it hurt when you say,
there’s a little school boy with a crush on the life
of a fireman- when the world is older, he’ll put the fires out too.

Chorus 1:
What if we could take a little love drug,
to give you just a little love bug.
It’s not my everyday approach where I’d put it in a joke and laugh.
What if we all had somebody to save, slap you and say “Oh behave!
Oh baby, just a little lower slow it down we’ve got all day”.

Verse 2:
Get me out of the way!
There’s a big surprise coming Saturday.
It’s a massive wave, yeah, it’s rolling over to give me a water front view.
Can I stay at yours for the Summer- I’ve got a stalker but I really need a plumber,
‘cause the pipes are leaking, roof is caving in.

Chorus 2:
What if you could take a little love drug,
to give you just a little love bug.
It’s not my everyday approach where I’d put it in a joke and laugh.
What if we all had somebody to
(What if)
save, slap you and say “Oh behave!
(to….save)
Oh baby, just a little lower slow it down we’ve got all day”(all day, all day, all day, all day).

Bridge:
Cursed is the day I would say that I’d ever love a drug.
Love a drug just the same way that I would love a hug from a stranger.
In a manger far away, far away- here we were told he was born with a twinkle in his eye with the message of love.
Then I realised there’s another- another lover, Venus, Venus.
She came along with a song of attraction and desire “la la la”, oh she sang of a love she set on fire in the ages, when the ridicule was contagious.

Chorus 3:
What if they could take a little love drug to give them just a little love
(love drug)
bug.
(bug)
It’s not an everyday approach, where you’d puff it out in smoke and pray (on your knees)
What if we all had somebody to save, slap you and say “Oh
(to save)
behave!”.
(behave)
It’s just no rocket science baby.
Put it in a joke and laugh!

Chorus 4:
(With a little love drug)
What if you could take a little love drug, (love drug)
To give you just a little love bug.(bug)
It’s not my everyday approach where I’d put it in a joke and laugh. (Make me laugh)
(Love drug)
What if we all had somebody to save, slap you and say “Oh behave,
Oh baby, just a little lower slow it down we’ve got all day, all day, all day”.

Outro:
The fireman would say, “Just take a little love drug, love drug, love drug, love drug”.
A la la la la la.
Love drug, love drug, love drug.
A la la la la love drug- love drug, love drug love drug.
