Bio

With a musicial foundation that started on his grandmothers piano, Nate Comptons ears met a childhood soundtrack with the likes of Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, and The Rolling Stones, along with such country names as Randy Travis and George Strait. "Those things strongly had an influence on me being into music. I remember my brother banging his drumkit or on his lap in the truck to the Bee Gees and Beach Boys. There was always music around me."

Born in 1981, Nate was raised in Jacobia, a rural area just outside of Greenville, Texas. In 2009 he headed to Austin, Texas where he currently lives.

Writing, in all forms, has always been a passion for Compton. "I was always into poetry, and there were just too many things around me (as far as instruments are concerned) to not pick up a few things, so it really just became a thing where I write songs.” Compton describes himself as a songwriter over a musician. β€œTo me, it's always about saying something. I'm not going to dazzle anyone with how well I play. My hope is that they "go there with me" for three or four minutes, then come back and say they feel a little warmer than they did before, like catching up with an old friend maybe.”

"The goals of a writer are simple to me. If one person likes a song, Im happy. If one person identifies with what I have to say, Im content. I have a lot to be thankful for. I am inspired by the best friends a man could have, a beautiful girl, a wonderful and couragous mother, the memory of a remarkable dad, the blessing of a step-father, the best times, the worst times, and undeniably, my creator. Im just glad to make a mark, even an insignificant scrape. At the end of my walk Ive put music in the world, rather than distaste, I gave more and took less, I sang more than teared up, and I still managed to write a whole biography about myself in third person."
