NATE “ANOTHA PLANET” PARRISH

Nate Parrish was born April 19th 1987 to parents, Mark and Veronica Parrish and was the youngest of three sons. Nate grew up in Albany, New York where his musical journey began. Growing up in his family’s church, he soon realized that he was born into a very musical family. His father was a musician and his mother was, and remains a singer. At the young age of 2 years old, Nate began singing in a group called Generation 5 that consisted of his two older brothers and his two older cousins. The group gained much success as they appeared on shows like SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO, where they won Amature Night. And also the Bobby Jones Show. So Nate was exposed, even at an early age to the big stage.

He soon after moved to Savannah Georgia where he continued singing in the group Generation 5 where his life would change once again. At a show without their drummer, his mother Veronica jumped on the drum set and began to play their show. Lick for lick she had every song down with no faults in her performance. And that’s when Nate decided he wanted to be a drummer. Being very fortunate, his first time on a drum set was something to see. He was able to keep the beat and had great timing. His love for the drums developed soon after. Nate would sit in church and if he wasn’t playing, would always look at who ever was on the drums and ask “CAN I PLAY AFTER YOU?” His love for music grew stronger and stronger the more he played.

At the age of 21 Nate became the musical director for the now established Mali Music, under label SoundWalk Music Group. Since then Nate has been apart of some more than great show cases as well as traveling and touring with Mali Music. Now at the age of 24 Nate has played such shows as BET’s 106 and PARK, and BET’S MUSIC MATTERS. He has also toured with artist such as Mali Music, DA TRUTH, The Ambassador, Sean Simmonds, B-REITH, Freddy Washington, and has performed on shows and played behind artist such as Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, Deitrick Haddon, The Soul Seekers, Lisa McClendon, Kierra “KIKI” Sheard, Isaac Carree, John P Kee, Lowell Pye, Sunday’s Best, Jessica Reedy and many more.

Nate “ANOTHA PLANET” Parrish continues to travel across the world doing just what he loves. His zeal, drive and creativity are nowhere near their peaks. Every day is a new adventure for this rising drummer/producer.
