"Watch Nathalie Kraemer in the music video for "Nevermind""

Toronto-based singer songwriter, Nathalie Kraemer, follows up on the success of her debut EP Odyssey with the dreamy music video for her new single “Nevermind” directed by Colin Cooper. If the James Bond franchise is looking for a new Bond Girl for their next film, they may have just found her in this video. Her pop beats and floating vocal style work magic with the imagery of the video. It’s videos like this that leave just enough to the imagination to allow the viewer to create their own version of the story to fill in the blanks to the director’s narrative.
Nathalie toured Germany with the Motown cover band “The Hot Cookies” which allowed her to gain confidence as a singer. When Nathalie finished her studies in Europe, she moved to Toronto to continue her career. It was here that she started to dive into the world of songwriting and pursue her solo career. Nathalie’s voice and dedication has surrounded her with talented producers and artists. Her debut EP was recorded by jazz musician and producer George Koller and co-produced by blues legend David Clayton-Thomas. “Nevermind” was produced by one of Toronto’s most famous composers and producers, Jono Grant. Nathalie is currently working on her follow up to Odyssey. If the music video for “Nevermind” is any indication, her career is only beginning to take shape and we’re excited to see what she delivers next. "Odyssey: a brilliant debut CD by Nathalie Kraemer"

The only shortcoming of this CD is… its duration of only twenty-two minutes. This debut disc includes six songs that Nathalie Kraemer, a young German artist who lives in Canada, sings with her powerful and expressive voice. Most notable are C’est ça la vie, a lyric-driven chanson, Darling, a wonderful jazz ballad, and Sick Obsession, a true rock anthem. George Koller, one of the best Canadian jazz musicians of the moment, was entrusted with the minimalist yet creative arrangement, and accompanied Kramer on the bass, the synthesizer and the amazing C. Bechstein D 280 concert grand piano at Toronto’s Number 9 studios. Kraemer’s debut CD is an enriching discovery. - C. Bechstein piano manufacturer

"Listening to Nathalie"

Listening to Nathalie ,there's a velvety richness in her voice that is still airy enough not to weigh one down in melancholy despite the words she’s singing. There is a deepness and strength of a Patti Smith at times and others it feels like being sung to by a classically trained singer. Her songs are mostly of love and loss yes, but they possess something more than a universal longing. Everybody sings about life but not all of them make you feel it. The words carry a story in them, enough to get lost in, instead of just being taken. From C’est ca la vie - first song - to the last - Sick obsession - from cafe stylings to gritty urban club stages, indicative of a chameleon aspect to her work, each song feels like a different stage routine in the diversity that feels like watching a favourite performer play many roles.  - Kisha Ferguson from CTV News

Bio

Nathalie's signature sound is a fusion of pop beats and thought provoking lyrics, wreathed in a film soundtrack style, that makes you feel life with her soul-gripping music. Through every word and silky-smooth tone she lets flow from her sultry voice, the German born singer/ songwriter reaches deep inside of you and pulls from your well of emotion buckets of nostalgia, overflowing with memories laced with joy and sadness.

Born to a French/Vietnamese mother and a German father, Nathalie fell in love with music at the age of 9 when she first picked up the alto-saxophone and soon began playing in Big Bands. Her love of playing quickly turned to singing when she discovered that beautiful 1950's sound she’s well known for. She immersed herself in intensive vocal training and performing anywhere she could. From
entering every singing contest, she could find, to joining a myriad of choirs and bands, Nathalie’s life became her music.

Eventually all of her hard work led her to tour throughout Germany with the successful Motown cover band “The Hot Cookies”. When Nathalie finished studying film and animation in Europe, she decided to move to Toronto to continue chasing her dream of singing.

While there, out of the need to express her struggles with an uncertain situation that left her without a job or visa, she began to write her own songs. Nathalie’s immense talent began to attract attention, and inspired by Nathalie's vocals, producer and jazz musician George Koller recorded Nathalie's first EP “Odyssey”. The release was a well-received album that was also executive-produced by blues legend, David Clayton-Thomas. She continues to attract more talented artists with her abilities as Nathalie is now backed by iconic producer and film composer Jono Grant who has produced albums for Juno award winner Richard Underhill, Kim Stockwood (EMI), and John Southworth. With Jono Nathalie has grown her style into the cinematic pop genre.
