"Versatile Fifteen Year-old Makes Mark on Fayetteville Music Scene"

Fifteen year-old Nathan Aronowitz is a sophomore honor student at Rogers High School. He is a versatile blues, jazz, and rock musician who sings and plays piano, guitar, and harmonica. Around Fayetteville and Rogers, Nathan has played with many accomplished Northwest Arkansas musicians including Gary Hutchinson, Kory Montgomery, Isayah Warford, Ocie Fisher, R.J. Mischo, and Dave Stiles. He has twice appeared on the King Biscuit Radio Show, impressing long time host, ‘Sunshine’ Sonny Payne, with his mastery of the harmonica. In August 2011, Nathan attended the Pinetop Perkins Master Piano Class, which culminated in an open jam with famous Muddy Waters guitarist, Bob Margolin, at the Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, MS.

Nathan composed and arranged all the songs on his recently released CD, ‘Few More Steps’. Track 8, ‘You Left Me’, has received regular airplay on 104.9 The X out of Fayetteville. Appearing as Nathan A. and The Max R.P.M. Band, Nathan, Matt Perrine, Dan Robinson, and Severino Meyers, performed at the 2010 Walmart Shareholder event featuring local bands, the 2010 Pinnacle Arts Festival, and at George’s Majestic Lounge over two days in conjunction with Bikes, Blues, and BBQ 2010.

As part of his 2010 live show, Nathan performs as Nathan A. and The Max R.P.M. Band (Dan Robinson, Matt Perrine, Severino Meyers). His two hour set features songs from ‘Few More Steps’, as well as unique interpretations of traditional R&B covers. At the midway point of ‘Voodoo Child’, Nathan infuses an amazing two part drum interplay with Dan Robinson. Audiences can’t get enough! Having made their mark in 2010, Nathan and Max R.P.M. hope 2011 festival audiences will continue to enthusiastically receive their brand of new blues rock.

Nathan is active in his church and plays guitar in ‘Summit’, the Central United Methodist Church Youth Praise Band. He also is thrilled to be playing the quads in his high school marching band drum line. Looking ahead, Nathan will continue to write new songs and lay down the rough tracks which will comprise a planned follow-up CD in 2012. He plans to attend college, and is currently has his eyes set on Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA – alma mater of his favorite artist, John Mayer. - ETDG, LLC

"Nathan A. and Max R.P.M. Eye 2011 Festivals"

Rogers, Arkansas – Forcing second glances around Rogers and Fayetteville since he was 13 years old, Nathan Aronowitz has sat in on keyboard, organ, guitar, and harp with local favorites such as Kory Montgomery, Isayah Warford, Ocie Fisher, and Dave Stiles. He has been invited to play various benefits, Bikes, Blues, and Hot Rods Too, The IBC Regional Blues Challenge, and Blues in the Natural State. He was also featured as an emerging artist at the 2009 Pinnacle Arts Festival. And for the past two years, Nathan has represented the Ozark Blues Society in the International Blues Challenge Youth Showcase in Memphis, TN.

Adults who have jammed with Nathan leave impressed with his maturity. Nathan’s command of multiple instruments, seasoned ear, and musical timing go well beyond his years, but all can agree that it is his passion, which Nathan skillfully channels through his Roland VK8 organ, that sets him apart!

Now at the ripe young age of 15, Nathan recently released his first full length CD. Along with drummer, bass player, producer, and mentor, Dan Robinson, Nathan spent the second half of 2009 recording the nine tracks which comprise his debut effort, ‘Few More Steps’. The completed work offers a full length original compilation of edgy and traditional blues, mixed with the adolescent experiences of your son, your neighbor’s son, and the kid down the street.

‘Few More Steps’ opens with ‘Another Lonely Night’, a song which features a screaming organ trading time with penetrating and perfectly timed guitar licks, … all set to solid rhythm tracks laid down by Dan Robinson. Displaying his musical versatility, Nathan follows with ‘Different World’, an ode to band camp featuring classic jazz guitar delicately interlaced with martini bar keys.

The CD namesake, ‘Few More Steps’ offers an R&B rendition of cross-country training that races across the finish line to a huge bluesy ending. After hearing this song, dare yourself to get the catchy little ditty out of your head! ‘Say What?’ delivers a fun and rousing shuffle which rides on a chorus of playful courtship and teenage smack talk.

Nathan saves some of his best work for his later tracks. ‘You Left Me’ (Track 8) is an angry blast on being dumped. Nathan sets a strong vocal on top of fist pumping guitar and menacing drums. The result is a fresh take on rockin’ blues that is already hitting the airwaves on New Rock 104.9 ‘The X’ in Fayetteville, AR. ‘Back in Memphis’ rounds out the effort with a heartfelt, string-pulling remembrance of playing The Blues on Beale Street in Memphis, TN. Featuring a slow and waning keyboard, ‘Memphis’ crescendos into a magnificent guitar lamenting of a year long wait (forever to a teenager) before a return to Beale.

As part of his 2010 live show, Nathan performs as Nathan A. and The Max R.P.M. Band (Dan Robinson, Matt Perrine, Severino Meyers).
