Biography

Nathan loves writing music so much that it has become an addiction, but you'll never catch him in rehab for his favorite obsession. Nathan plays guitar, piano, ukelele, and writes songs. Every style or genre can be blended with another and Nathan's music is a result of interesting combinations. From blues to soul, country, rock-n-roll, his literary devices exposing the truth behind words. The best part of it all however, is his voice. They say "He's got pipes!" and when he "belts the breakdown" you'll know what they mean. His music is free to hear and download so you should definitely check him out. Leave a comment or share some love because local, "up and coming" music is the best music and we could use a little break from the redundant radio.

Lyrics

Glass House

Written By: Nathan Hale

Verse 1
I borrow a piece of paper ‘cause my notebook is full
All the pages got filled up while I was spilling out my soul
I’m better in real time when I let it move through me
I don’t know what to do, so I just keep that pen moving
Words turn into sound
As I’m writing them down
I re-read what I think
And I meet the real me
Create confidence
Witness originality
Accept the consequence
And that’s the reality

Chorus
I'll throw the stone
I'm not perfect I know
But I've got to get out
Of this God damn glass house
The panes are like mirrors
And my pain is so clear
Can't look at myself
So I cry out for help
Arms out, spinning around
Let it all crash down
The shards are like a snowflake
In a slow motion earthquake
As the glass cuts my skin
So I let it sink in
In this shiny debris
I am finally free
Of me
Verse 2
I can't do this alone
The only meaning is my own
Like a secret that I've kept
Of a brilliant concept
Just a thought that I had
But I'm scared that it's bad
What do you think I mean
Words describing a scene
And your picture is different
Than the one in my mind
Yours was there in an instant
Mine developed in time
And its not up to me
How the artwork will read
But I try to emote
With the words that I wrote
Does it make you feel
Like my thoughts are real
Does it mean anything
If the viewer's just me

Chorus
I'll throw the stone
I'm not perfect I know
But I've got to get out
Of this God damn glass house
The panes are like mirrors
And my pain is so clear
Can't look at myself
So I cry out for help
Arms out, spinning around
Let it all crash down
The shards are like a snowflake
In a slow motion earthquake
The glass cuts my skin
So I let it sink in
In this shiny debris
I am finally free
Of me

Sleepless Lullaby

Written By: Nathan Hale

Verse 1
I'm awake in my bed
I can't make peace with my head
So I pray I find rest
To fill tomorrow's emptiness
Chorus
And when the sun comes up I'll let it shine on my face
Take a deep breath in and I'll soak in the rays
I can't ever let go though the truth be told my grips getting weak and I can't get to sleep
Just let go of what you know
I fall asleep
Verse 2
Close my eyes and hum lullabies
Like the soundtrack to my life its a movie in my mind
Is this self reflection or a dream like inception?
The clock just keeps turning and my thoughts are still burning me, alive
Chorus
And when the sun comes up I'll let it shine on my face
Take a deep breath in and I'll soak in the rays
I can't ever let go though the truth be told my grips getting weak and I can't get to sleep
Just let go of what you know
I fall asleep
