In an industry overcrowded with top 40 clichés, Nathan Leigh Jones is refreshingly different. Refusing to sacrifice his musical genius for the sake of fitting a bland and predictable mould, this Australian born singer/songwriter takes his seat elsewhere — in front of a grand piano. Inspired by the ivory tickling greats of our time (namely Billy Joel, Elton John and Ben Folds), Nathan's piano-vocal craftsmanship is unapologetically destined for radio, while maintaining a heartfelt integrity that pop classics are made of.

Growing up in the outskirts of Adelaide, South Australia, Nathan Leigh Jones was child number three of six. Surrounded by five other siblings in a tightly squeezed household, music was one of the few things that was both greatly accessible and strongly encouraged. So strongly at times, that Saturday morning cartoons were usually substituted with tantrums, tears, and scales in C minor. Although the cardinal sin of rearranging Beethoven's classics was never quite comprehended, young Nathan did come to recognise his uncanny ability to create music, rather than merely recycling it. Coupled with a new-found voice when hitting high school, he not only snared a lead role in the school musical, but finished with a perfect score for his final moderated solo performance.

Creative juices began to flow thicker and faster as he grew out of his teenage years, fuelled by an increasing desire to perform his maturing brand of piano-vocal infused pop. After relocating to Sydney, a humble demo awarded Nathan Leigh Jones as the 2004 Musicoz Artist of the Year. Backed with $40,000 worth of industry prizes, his vision and preparation for an album was finally brought to life at Australia's SonyBMG studios.

After another accolade as 'The Hot Pick' in the inaugural Pacific Songwriting Competition, Nathan Leigh Jones has since furthered his buzz with packed shows at the cream of Australia's live venues. Even punters across LA, New York and the world renowned SXSW festival in Texas have had a taste of the wonder from Down under. With all the right boxes ticked in the talent, looks, and star-quality departments, an impact is continually being made both within and beyond his sunburnt shores.

And yet, as Nathan Leigh Jones stands on the brink of superstardom, he knows his career comes with just one guarantee — his music will always be refreshingly different.
