"Pause- VMCONF"

Nathan Stiteler, 19, is majoring in Audio Engineering at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. As a songwriter and recording artist, Nathan recorded his first album, Pieces Of My Heart, an instrumental album, in Fall 2005 with violinist Carolyn Lam. This was followed by Hopeful Ambitions of Grandeur E.P. released in Fall 2006, and The Apple Tree E.P. in 2007. In August 2008, he released the full-length album Desper Hollow Drive; a concept album about life, hardships, death, and the ultimate reality that is found in all of these. Desper Hollow Drive's musical content is compared to a movie soundtrack due to the string arrangements made by Carolyn Lam. Nathan has won the city of Staunton's Battle of The Bands two years running. He is constantly asked by Waynesboro's and Staunton's Office on Youth to play for their special events. As far as songwriting goes, he has been offered a contract for two of his songs, "Prescription" and "Lack of Correspondence" by the Nashville Songwriting Service, while Hitt Music Group requested to use "Far Away Island Unknown" in a movie soundtrack. Overall, Nathan views music as a means of communication and a way to build relationships.

Bio

I've always been a fan of music that is honestly written.
Desper Hollow Drive seems to capture life in an honest form. Life is often viewed as a journey only to conclude in the ultimate reality: death. Desper Hollow Drive strives to comment on this "journey" along with its many hardships. In the record, there are cases of insomnia, failed attempts, storms, dissatisfaction, separation, and death. Since death is the "ultimate reality," it is the conclusion of the record, yet Desper Hollow allows room for the foundation of redemption.

Nathan's live shows provide a concoction of energy and peace. At times the music is loud, yet at other times it is calm and soothing.

No matter what the gig is, Nathan strives to keep writing and performing honest songs.
