Bio
Ruth started out by forming the band Djinn. They performed extensively on the pub circuit and then moved to playing Manchester venues. Moving to Manchester, Ruth shared a house with other artists & musicians, including Damon Gough who was the first to find success as Badly Drawn Boy. Ruth then set up her own recording studio to focus on her songwriting. Native State is the result. With her new band she is performing some of the strongest songs around today.
Native State are currently working on an EP to be released Spring 2007 on a new Manchester label. We are also negotiating global online distribution rights for our debut CD Riptide, which will then be available for download on itunes and all other download platforms. The current line-up is a four piece drums/ percussion, bass, acoustic guitar/keyboards/vocals, vocals/keys/strings. We have a unique sound with strong melodic songwriting and we're great live so come and see us soon and do something for your ears !
