Bio

Natti Vogel came out of the womb differently.
No really, his doctor was in a rush to go on vacation and pulled him
out too quickly, thus necessitating a little baby armcast for weeks to
come. Since then, Natti’s arms have become far more active and healthy,
training themselves in classical violin since the age of four and
teaching themselves how to play piano from the age of ten.
Although Natti always expressed himself through song, having memorized
entire musicals and operas from toddlerhood on, he didn’t begin to take
himself seriously until a close friend heard his first recording,
“Jelly! A Marinal Rock Opera.” Told that it was musically and lyrically
sophisticated and innovative, this friend encouraged Natti to write
“serious music.” Baffled, yet excited by this new assignment, he banged
away at his piano all night long, much to the chagrin of everyone else
in the house trying to sleep. What he had written by sunrise was his
first serious composition, the jazzy, manic-depressive piano ballad
“Headjam.”
This 17-year-old Natti took this newfound marriage of composition to
New York City to attend the New School University, where he couldn’t
stop creating random melodies, funky piano riffs, and lyrical oddities,
at every available moment. He formed a dysfunctional band, which played
his newly sprouting works, eventually winning them the first place
prize in his university’s Battle of the Bands. Shortly after the band’s
dramatic and intense breakup, it became obvious to Natti and to
everyone around him that he needed to go solo.
Since going solo, Natti has performed at a host of amazing venues in
New York, Boston, and Virginia, and has been accruing some eccentric,
but intelligent fans. He is currently studying political science and
music composition in college, and engaging in a constantly chaotic –
yet entertaining – juggling act of Dionysian revelry and sober scholasticism
