Bio

Rapper, songwriter and entertainer Natty Nat, a.k.a. Natalie Florance, a.k.a. Da Rawest Female N Da Durty South, broke onto the music scene in 2003 after three local artists asked her to flow. Natty Nat took the challenge and her first hit, “T-Town Hop” by Crimson ft. Natty Nat was penned. The song was played at the local clubs; the DJs and crowd loved it. From there, Natty Nat’s rap career has soared.
Born the youngest of nine in Johnson City, New York, Natty Nat moved to Florida while in elementary school. Infectious beats and melodies took control of her senses, making music a large influence in her life. She was inspired to become a drummer in the sixth grade and remained a lead percussionist through graduation from Mulberry Senior High School. Education and artistry paved the way for Natty Nat to graduate from Polk Community College, where she earned her Associate of Arts Degree in Mass Media/Photography. Always the consummate go-getter, the rapper completed her Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary of Social Sciences/Sociology and Psychology. She also graduated from the Diesel Institute of America in Tampa, Florida.
The opportunity to rap began with Natty Nat’s passion for photography. While taking pictures of local artists in Tampa, FL, she was able to work closely with DFL Recordings, PuppetMastar with Crowd Control Music (Def Jam R&B artist), Tango (Beddroc Entertainment), Tru Baller (Baller Status Records and Feel Good Muzik Group artist) Southern Thunder, De'Vanie, D. Drass, DJ Bones, Star Power Entertainment, with many of them continuing to make music with her. Now part of the rap game, Natty Nat began writing lyrics and verses. To ascend to the next level, she began to have all of her music copyrighted through ASCAP.
Natty Nat caught the attention of Chris Hicks, VP of Def Jam, who offered her the opportunity to open for Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint 3 Tour.” Kevin Black of U Can Fly Holdings, Los Angeles advised the rapper that her single “Dat Juice” was Skyped as a Top 10 Hit. The former Warner Brothers Music executive offered guidance on taking her career to the next level. Jay King, formerly of Club Nouveau, offered to be Natty Nat’s international representative after hearing two of her songs at his radio station. She recently recorded a remix with R&B group Jagged Edge for a future album. LL Cool J has given inspirational support to Natty Nat regarding her musical path. With a deep love for hip hop, she appreciates a veteran taking time to acknowledge her talent and encourage her to continue to strive for success.
The rapper came out with the hot hit singles “Work,” “Jump N Move” and “Go Head.” Natty Nat has passed out more than 25,000 demos across Florida. She has performed in countless clubs in Tampa, Lakeland, Haines City and Ft. Meade. The artist has also put on shows for Slip N Slide Records Events in Orlando and Jacksonville, FL. A local television show from the Tampa market, Hip Hop 411, has showcased one of her performances.
This focused entertainer will not stop trying to take this industry by storm. With faith and determination, Natty Nat knows she will become a household name. Her initial goal to finish her first album, “Music Business,” is complete. The debut is clean, radio-ready and is being pushed worldwide. The untitled sophomore album is in progress with a slated release in spring of 2012.
There is a lot of buzz surrounding Natty Nat and her Southern skills. Slip N Slide owner, Ted Lucas, and A&R representative, Milk, were in negotiations for her hit single, “Work.” Milk also expressed his desire to employ the rapper as a writer for future artists. Trill Promotions featured two of her hits for their website and audience. “Go Head,” “Work” and “Wiggle Wiggle” were requested as features on the Lovers and Friends Show Soundtrack. “Go Head” also charted on Bill Ricketts Record Pool’s (Saddle Brook, NJ) Top 50s Chart for five weeks. DJ Purfiya is featuring the artist on “Coast to Coast” Mixtapes Volumes 11 & 12 and email blasts across the nation. Xclusive Entertainment, A. Miller Entertainment and DJ Rocky (Club Empire in Tampa, Florida) are pushing her music like a blaze to their captives. Natty Nat is on the grind to be the next big trailblazer from Da Durty South.
