Natty Remo & The Blessings Band

Inspired by legendary artists Bob Marley and the Wailers, I-Roy, Big Youth, Shabba Ranks and Garnet Silk, Natty Remo spent his formative years traveling Jamaica with various sound systems, sharpening his vocal skills. In 1988, known as Captain Remo, he migrated to New York City, just as Shaggy, Rayvon and Super Cat were making waves.
Remo’s notoriety grew quickly in Europe, the U.S. and the Caribbean. Junior Forbes, veteran promoter and younger brother of Copeland Forbes, booked Natty Remo on a North America tour with the Mighty Diamonds, Frankie Paul and Junior Jazz. The artists received rave reviews from several entertainment journalists.
Returning to Jamaica, Bobby Digital of Digital B, Barry O’Hare of Grove Studios, and Phillip Smart of HC&F Recordings, Long Island, New York, produced songs that catapulted Remo’s name into the musical stratosphere. Remo was nominated for DJ of the Year three consecutive years in a row by the Tamika Awards (NYC) and for Best New Artist in 1996 by the Binns Awards (Jamaica).
Remo performed at the White River Bash, Sumfest, Reggae Sunsplash, Sting, the Vermont Music Festival, Western Consciousness, throughout Europe and colleges alongside some of Jamaica’s great.
In 2002 Kulcha Shok Muzik released Natty Remo’s first album, Babylon Fall. This 16 track CD with 5 instrumental mixes offers original songs with clean conscious lyrics. The long-awaited album and title song music video satisfied fans worldwide.
Natty Remo continues to work on his sophomore album with Anthony Rochester, known for writing songs with and for the late great Garnet Silk, Everton Blender, Marcia Griffiths and Kashief Lindo.
