Bio
George Belton is a naturally gifted, multi-talented musician. He has a reputation for being a real funky bass player who can get down on just about any instrument he gets his hands on. A native of Washington, DC, he got his first real taste of music from his mother, who had formal piano lessons as child & played for him as a kid, and his father (George Sr.) a self taught pianist & a former singer with the late great Marvin Gaye. Growing up, George would find more inspiration watching "The Late Show" and "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert", with popular bands like the Eagles, Steve Miller Band, The Commodores, and the FunkMaster of all time: George Clinton. A Washington DC native, he was also influenced by a lot of early Go-Go music, bands like EU, Rare Essence, Trouble Funk, and of course the Godfather, Chuck Brown. George also did session work with various artists such as Salt n Pepa,Cheryl Crow,Ann Nesby & Raheim Devaughn
