Bio

Natty Valencia is a lively pop artist originally from Edmonton now based in Toronto. Since the release of her self-titled EP in July 2013, Natty is developing her new pop-rock hybrid sound with the October release of her single "Dangerous" produced by Mark Zubek, (Grammy award-winning artist Betty Carter and Jen Chapin).

Her songs are charmingly eclectic; a surprising harmony of happy and heartfelt, pretty and powerful. "I believe there is room in the industry for meaningful and less shallow pop music." Natty shares. "I want my sound to be emotional, fun and irresistible enough to connect with young listeners. I want to elevate people!"

It's an organic and sincere approach for any artist. She stays true to her intention tastefully by blending soulful melodies to upbeat hooks with undisguised story-telling lyrics, an apt description for her latest track, "Dangerous". "I wrote it as an honest pep-talk to myself, to anyone needing a saving grace." she says, the inspiration stemming from toxic relationships and her personal diary entries as a victim of constant bullying.

Penning from the artist's own experiences and delivering them in a smart and genuine way allows her to bring each song to life onstage. By weaving relatable stories into strong songs, Natty's magnetic performance speaks to teens, and reminds adults what it feels like to be one. Her polished originals like "My Body" and "Blacktop Renegade" can assuredly compete with hit radio and have earned her a showcase committed to the development of Canadian talent on 97.7 Up! Radio in Calgary.

In constant pursuit to establish herself as a respected recording artist, the fearless 20-year old packed up her piano and moved across the country just three short months ago. "Her commitment and dedication is unrivaled in someone so young," says engineer and co-producer James Seabrook (Two Bodies of Water). No stranger to the stage, Natty regularly performs at open mic's, charitable organizations, music venues and festivals in Canada, taking her songs from full band down to an intimate performance in an essence described by her audiences as engaging and authentic. And although her musical theatre background loves the high energy of a big production and cast of musicians, she is rather relaxed in the solo setting. "There are no special effects with me," she says. "When I'm on stage, I want people to see my passion through my music as if it's just two of us sharing a conversation".
