Bio
Natural Born Lovers formed in Brisbane in 1997 and quickly became the 'must have' band at festivals and music events around SE Qld. The band officially broke up in 2001, but continues to re-form for special events. An invitation in 2009 to perform an Etta James tribute set at 'Even Divas Get The Blues' has re-energised the band, and with newest members Craig Macdonnel (sax) and Jules Victor (dms), the band takes no prisoners, particularly when it expands to include a 3 piece horn section (see clips at www.myspace.com/naturalbornloversband ).
Lead singer Jody Haines is a force of nature, whether she's belting out stone blues from Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker, 60s Soul from Etta James & Co. or original material from the three songwriters within the band.
Another strength of the band is its solid commitment to groove. A decade of playing together has cemented this outfit into one tight and fun-filled entertainment unit.
Recently runners-up in the BASEQ Blues Performer of the Year.
