Single - Sweet is the Air / Life - With Alice Russell (tru-thoughts records)

Natureboy (aka Dave Noble) has just released Under Your Window – a lush melodic album of songs influenced by time spent in Africa and in his garden shed in Oxfordshire.

Natureboy has received much airplay and acclaim in the last year. The popular track from the first album, ‘Sweet is the Air’ featuring Alice Russell, was used for a Surf TV advert.

Natureboy has had releases through a variety of labels including Tru-Thoughts, Big Chill Recordings, Jazz FM Records Late Lounge, Planet Worksand his own label under which he has released his debut album ’Whoever you may be’ and the previous ’Pages Turning’. He has played live at Glastonbury, the Big Chill, Cargo and the Jazz Café in the UK. He has also performed around the world alone and with other artists in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Dakar, Goa and Tel Aviv.

Dave’s music strikes a similar chord not only to Zero 7 but also at times to French duo Air. You will find this debut both a polished recording and performance. (BBC Jazz Review - Peter Marsh)

"Natureboy, aka Dave Noble has created a labour of love here, with an impressive array of musicians, who he lets stamp their mark on his tight arrangements and lush tunes, straddling torch songs, jazz, folk 70's pop." (Pete Lawrence, The Big Chill)

There is a real diversity of instrumentation, from Fender Rhodes, Sitar, vibraphone, brass and gently plucked acoustic guitars. Over twenty-five artists played on the album and rather than being a case of too many cooks, it's an aurally organic mixture that sounds relaxed and natural. (BBC Oxford, Tim Bearder)
