NAVARO are essentially a trio made up of singer/songwriters Beth Navaro, Pete White and Steve Austin. When looking for musicians to help her promote her debut Country album Beth appraoched local duo Austin/White only to find a personal chemistry and vocal blend that would lead to the formation of a new act with its own record deal. Under Diamond Skies was the resulting cd and it is currently receiving a warm welcome from the UK roots press.The three share a love of strong melodic songs and a range of great acoustic-orientated artists. These include Joni Mitchell, Simon and Garfunkel, Kate Rusby, CSNY, Tracey Chapman, Alison Krauss, Mike Scott, Karine Polwart, Antony and the Johnsons, Sufjan Stevens and Ryan Adams. With a growing armory of powerful, original roots songs the band are taking their trademark harmony sound around the UK throughout the year. They have just played with Colin Blunstone and will be opening for Fairport Convention in May.
