NAVIGATORS

NAVIGATORS are a band that reached goals only few artists in their country have ever imagined. Their live performances take people by the heart, they represent a modern, mature,
sincere and quality urban vibe of their generation.

In 2005 a soul, funk, hip-hop and R´N´B fusion performed live with seven musicians on stage in a country with a strong rock mainstream bias could have meant nothing but pioneering or a simple underground tag. Back then, nobody would have told that in a couple of years NAVIGATORS will become one of the most significant bands in the country.

Their debut album SKY TRAVELLIN´ is the first Czech record ever mastered in the famous Sterling Sound Studios by a renowned sound engineer Tom Coyne (Michael Jackson, Sade, Jamiroquai, Beyoncé, …) and the first Czech record to get the regular air time in MTV Europe´s daily broadcasting.
Breaking the local radio charts consecutively by every single hit released, getting best reviews by the most respected music
mags or the nomination for the newcomer of the year by the OCKO music television, surprisingly and despite the tough conditions of the Czech musical industry, it gained more publicity, attention and success than the band of seven artists could have expected.

Throughout the last four years Navigators appeared on stage with musical legends like EARTH, WIND AND FIRE, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, OR SUGARHILL GANG, on the national TV screens and stages all across the country either as a band of
the basic seven up to an unbelievable twenty one member ensemble incorporating the most talented Czech musicians of the new generation.

It is the present day though that means the high time for NAVIGATORS. After seven years of their journey, with their eagerly awaited second album "MY PLACE" released in April, they are being booked for the most prestigious events in the country including the famous Karlsbad International Film Festival, the greatest Czech summer open air festivals like O2 Open air festival (30.000 people) Rock For People ( 25.000 people or the Annual Czech National Movie Awards as well as for the best clubs in the country.

MY PLACE – a concentrated and modern mix of soul, funk and R´n´B mastered in Sterling Sound NY by Tom Coyne again got it to the top selling chart right after it´s release. Along with the album, Navigators released three music videos called Rely On, MY Place and Do Something. The “analogue” video MY PALCE, showing nothing but 178 match boxes with original retro style graphics by the designer and director Pavel Fuksa, gained massive popularity from L.A. to Hong Kong getting more than 60.000 plays within weeks. This summer, Navigators are about to shoot their fourth music video called GETTING OUT. This one will be released in autumn to support the MY PLACE TOUR.
