Naystar

Shanae Benito (“NayStar”), is a multi-talented icon on the rise. She is the only child of Bridget and Derwin Benito, born in Queens, New York, raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Spending majority of her life around music and the performing arts, it seemed almost destined that her heart would lean in that direction as a career path. She has a passion for being on stage and as well as using the arts to express herself. It is a mixture of her talent, drive and passion that set her apart from the rest. Today she is actively pursuing her dreams by being a singer, songwriter, professional dancer, choreographer and published print model. She has proven that her talents in the entertainment industry are GOD given gifts. 

If you ask her what it is she loves about making music, she will tell you it’s the ability to express yourself. To be the individual you are, tell your story, speak your truths, and having the ability to move other people through your creation. This young mogul in the making enjoys every aspect of what she does with music, from writing the songs, recording in the studio, to her favorite aspect of being on stage to perform.

Once 15 years of age, that year and the following three (3) consecutive years after that, she spent being a part of the cast of “Teen City”, a teen series which was televised on Comcast and DirecTV where the youth could show off their talents to the world. It was there that she got her first taste of what it felt like to be an entertainer and there has been no turning back ever since. 

While she enjoys making music, Naystar as equally loves the art of dance. Having been professionally trained since a child, as well as dancing for semi-pro Football team, she then took the time to begin to teach dance classes of her own to inspire others. In addition to her classes, Naystar has also been featured in music videos, danced in the TLC Biopic: CrazySexyCool that aired on VH1, and choreographs dances for many other artists like LHHATL’s Jessica Dime, UK Pop Artist “Dupree” and more. Though dancing behind the scenes, she has never been sidetracked from her music. She has been singing at an array of showcases, events and shows. The highlight for her thus far was having been chosen to open up singing for Neo-Soul Superstar Angie Stone, whom she admired for years, at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia in November of 2015. In February of 2016, she released her first mixtape entitled “Passionate”, where she is very transparent and shares her heart by singing about everything from love, to heartbreak. Fake friends, to simply having fun and enjoying life.  

Striving to remain relatable, puts her life into her songs. Humble and ambitious, Shanae (Naystar) wants nothing more than to be victorious in her aspiring career and to live her dream to the fullest.  Her goal is to be continuously blessed with her music career and to continue blessing others through charity and giving back to the community as well as being a role model and advocate for black women. She wants to remind women that you can be sexy but tasteful, strong yet submissive, Intelligent with an open mind, and an individual who is confident no matter what society tells you that you should look like.

Her motto is “To be different is to be Irreplaceable”.  With a positive attitude - she holds her head high; with her unconditional love for GOD - she is blessed; and with a passion for music – she aims to succeed to be the best at all that she embarks upon.
