Nazdaq Brixx went from playing the stock market to rapping the blues of the Bronx. The Parkchester native always had music in his life. As a young boy he was into music playing such instruments such as the piano, clarinet, trumpet and the guitar in the school band in P.S. 105 as well in music school at the Bronx house almost everyday after school.
But before rapping he used to sing in the children and young adult choir in church, and also in the high school. At the age of 11 he moved to the Gun Hill/baychester area of the Bronx. By 14 years old he attended Our Saviour Lutheran H.S. where he ran track and played baseball around his third and fourth year of high school.
He started writing rhymes and battled against other student rappers in the high school lunchroom. During that time he was in a gospel rap group called F.O.C. (Followers of Christ) with his fellow BBZ member Zavear and his best friend villain for about a year. They performed at the famous Apollo amateur night and McDonald’s Gospelfest. But the group broke up when the members went their separate way.
After high school Brixx went to Berkeley College in White Plains for his first year then transferred to central Connecticut State University, where he majored in economics and minored in business. Towards his senior year he met Jay Perk and started Team Unofficial. The group performed at many shows throughout New England including New York at the China Club with Funkmaster Flex from Hot 97 in NYC. He is a member of the NY recording academy and was an assistant in the operations department at Sony BMG.
Brixx stopped rapping and became a stockbroker trainee after college at basic investors on Wall Street. But also he started his own company called The LaFrance Group Inc. which is advertising and media company. But this songwriter and producer is ready for the challenges that await him in the music industry.

NEW BRITAIN - Although through the years, hip hop has been given a bad name, a group of local college students is out to change that.
The goal of Club Hip-Hop, a group of about 20 students at Central Connecticut State University, is to preserve the positive aspects of hip-hop, according to group founder Jesse Perkins.
"Before I started the club, I thought hip hop was not being treated fairly," Perkins said. "Every day, it's portrayed negatively. We're here to change people's mindsets."
According to Perkins, hip-hop has contributed many positive things to the community at large. For instance, successful hip-hop artists often form charities and provide more jobs to people who aren't able to get corporate jobs, such as accountants and marketers.
Plus, hip-hop gets young people who want to be musicians off the streets, giving them a goal to focus on, Perkins said.
The club's latest event, the "Hip-Hop X-plosion," will feature several well-known Connecticut groups, including the internationally known group Paperboyz, Phar-City, Team Unofficial and many more.
The concert is scheduled to take place Dec. 1 from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at CCSU's Welte Hall.
Perkins, 21, a finance student at CCSU, is also the manager of "Team Unofficial", a Connecticut group which members are Nazdaq brixx, jay Perk and Jimmy Charlz whose songs have aired on radio station Hot 93.7. The group was formed a year and a half ago and in that time has formed a following of local college students, Perkins said.
Perkins said he isn't sure of his future plans with the band.
"It depends on where the fans take us," he said. "It's kind of like a hobby right now, but it's getting more serious as time goes on."
Phar-City is one of the biggest groups in the area and has also had airtime on Hot 93.7, Perkins said, and the Paperboyz are currently performing in Germany.
All profits made from the event will benefit the CCSU organization "Hip Hop", in its efforts to promote hip-hop awareness on campus. Tickets may be purchased at the door. General admission is $5 and admission for college students is $3.
