Dynamic Static

Dynamic Static

Dynamic static in the whisper of my name
Erratic emptiness
A waking up, closing down of confidence
Electric bullets from my forehead to my mouth
How inappropriate
Please excuse my lack of consonance

Oh, nervous inside
Oh, I can’t hide
Oh, nervous inside

Dynamic static is renting a house
In my logical reactions
Tricky symptoms in a twisting of the tongue
I’d like to know, I mean
I’d like to know your attractions
And if your static is the frequency of one

Oh, nervous inside
Oh, I can’t hide
Oh, nervous inside

NeverNeverNeverNever

Written By: Neara Russell

NeverNeverNeverNever
©2009 Neara Russell (Lemonade Pie Music/ASCAP)

I’m not what you think of me
A poison ivy pandemical rumor
That is not me
Information fiction
Circles like a cloud of smoke
With chemical conviction

Never bring me down, never bring me down
Never never never never …

CHORUS:
Never never never never put me down
Never never never push me around
Never never stop my sun from shining

Never never never never break my heart
Never never never pull me apart
Never never stop my sun from shining

Enigmatic shadow
Frays the edge of my reflection
In the worst way
History enraptured
Autobiographically my worst ten days

CHORUS

I’m not what you think of me

CHORUS x 2

Never never never never lose my nerve
Never never never believe a word
Never never stop my sun from shining

Cardboard Box

Cardboard Box

Fold me into a cardboard box and put me down
Heavy emptiness inside
What doesn’t fit isn’t worth keeping around
For a moment

Fold me into a cardboard heart that looks like love
Open-ended, gaping wild
Punch a promise through the wall and kiss the air
Where I won’t be

CHORUS:
A love letter fantasy twenty years too soon
A short story written too late
Under floors, there are hide and seeks you’ll never find
And a box of my mistakes

Fold me into a cardboard box of yesterday
Heavy emptiness inside
What doesn’t fit just attic away
For a lifetime

CHORUS

In another life
Another story
I would repair the broken sentences
But now it’s done
The story’s over
I’ll start another end

Fold me into a cardboard box and put me down
Heavy emptiness inside

CHORUS x 2
