NEBO BIOGRAPHY
Formerly known as ALF, Brisbane swamp rock / blues roots outfit NEBO have appeared at the Woodford Folk Festival three times, featured on The Panel (ch9,) Rage, The Fly (ABC) and received extensive radio airplay on Triple J, Triple M, ABC Radio, Sea FM and approximately 90 community radio stations throughout Australia.
After two EPs NEBO completed the recording of their first long player Along The Way last May at Wavelength Studios in Brisbane. Along The Way was produced and recorded by Joe Panetta (formerly of Red Zedz fame) whist Jay Van Lieshout (who has worked everywhere from the Big Day Out to the London Astoria and with acts such as John Butler, John Hiatt, Placebo, Paul Weller and wait for it David Lee Roth) stepped in as Assistant Engineer.
Pulsing in synch with prime surf season, Along The Way was released last summer through MGM distribution, it morphs ALFs signature acousticism with something distinctly NEBO; a shrewd musical impetuosity, simultaneously hard-edged and easily broken that throbs with a palpable sense of growth and electricity.
NEBO are all professionally experienced musicians, with a substantial repertoire of performances and gigs to their names. Feature gigs have included the Brunswick Street Mall Stage at Brisbanes best loved and biggest free music event - Valley Fiesta, main stage at The Groove & Grape Festival, The Troubadour, The Rev, Edingburgh Castle Hotel, The Alley Bar, the Valley Rotunda and The Rails & The Great Northern in Byron Bay.
Sarah Tone In and Tic Toc are available in all CD stores through MGM Distribution. Along the Way hits shelves this summer, new single My Wave has already been added to various FM playlists including the ABC, SA, SEA, NEW and Noosa FM. Track three All Alone has been receiving JJJ play on Jordy Kilbys Roots n All program and has been included on the AIR 2005 Blues n Roots Sampler, which is to be distributed to Media & Industry both nationally & globally. Track 1 Reap What You Sow has been included on the AIR 2005 Rock sampler and has also been receiving spotplay on JJJ. Along The Way peaked at #8 on the ZZZ charts. Due for official release in early 2007, Nebo are currently demoing tracks for their sophomore longplayer.
