"Good Excuse For a Party"

"Necktie Party's music has a soulful undertow, integrating enchanting harmonies and bluesy song stylings into a hypnotic mix. At its most soulful, especially when songstress Kate takes the lead on songs like "Lost and Found," the band can evoke the swirling emotional resonance of The Cowboy Junkies. Other songs, such as "We're All Waiting," have more of a pop edge to them, but the overall result is still an affecting and stirring blues number, a cold beer in hot, dark bar." - Victor D. Infante/ Worcester Telegram & Gazette

Bio

Consisting of 6 members from the central MA/RI area, couple Tim & Kate write the basis of the music and the band fleshes it out together. Every member adds their own unique part while complimenting the overall sound. Tim & Kate first met in high school, and guitarist Dan Hastings went to the same school. Tim met guitarist Carl Dupree while living in RI. They shared common musical interest and became fast friends. Drummer Jason Macierowski and bassist Mike Sparks were met through mutual friends and have all become a tight knit family. Song topics range from love to drug addiction and depression, and everywhere in between. More of a brotherhood than a band, Necktie Party delivers a hypnotic/dreamy sound while maintaning a lively rock edge. They are influenced mainly by bands such as The Velvet Underground, Brian Jonestown Massacre and Spacemen 3 with 60's garage/psych influence and country/folk influence.
