Bio

When one looks toward the horizon in search of the next generation of Hip-Hop pioneers, the last place you would expect one to arise would be the streets of Iran. Neda, however, forces us to re-think these pre-conceived notions by taking us on a mind altering journey with her musical style. In the process, she provides us with a glimpse into the future.

Neda’s style is unique and hypnotic; provocative and thoughtful. While she holds on firmly to the roots of what Hip-Hop is, she does it her way, not attempting to imitate urban experiences which are not her own. Instead, Neda brings her own special flava and perspective to the table and presents it with such honesty and sincerity, that the listener is immediately captivated and drawn into her lyrical web.

Born in Tehran, shortly after the fall of the Shah and the rise of the Ayatollah, Neda lived her first years suffering through the horrors of the brutal war that raged between Iran and Iraq; and experienced first hand the effects of religious tyranny before finally being led by her father threw the desert on a harrowing escape from the country.

Music became Neda´s way of coping and expressing her innermost feelings. She started rapping at the age of 13 and almost instantly she became a crowd favorite at parties and festivals across northern Germany. Her slick flows and witty, introspective text left many amazed that this could be coming from someone so young.

Over time Neda refined her skillz by constantly working on herself. Still it has not been easy for her, as a female MC, to get recognition in a business dominated by men, and in a country that frowns upon Black Music performed by German artists. Neda, however, is determined to make her presence felt in the rap game. In 2005 she teamed up with New York producer "DaHitman" of Hitman Music Production and finally found someone who understood her musical spirit. Together they worked for over a year developing what is now the Neda sound. It is a work in progress, but their efforts have already gotten them a growing international audience, and led to performance as opening acts for MC Lyte, Baby Bash and Bubba Sparxx.

Neda´s myspace page; www.myspace.com/nedamusic, with over 1 million views and 2 million plays to date, has generated huge excitement among Black Music fans and has industry people internationally give her a serious look. 2008 could very well be, “The Year of Neda”.
