Bio
Put down the synths. Put on the vinyl.
In a world of dance-fueled rock, Needles To Vinyl's sound is decidedly honest and simple. Culled from the soil of the prairies and perfected in a barn, the band has been turning out their own brand of straight-ahead, balls out, take-no-prisoners, honest rock n’ roll for ten years. You like Pearl Jam, Sam Roberts, The Tragically Hip, and the Stone Temple Pilots? You love Needles to Vinyl.
Fronted by the electric Nick Martin, Needles to Vinyl has worked with Edmonton’s best producers and had the pleasure of sharing the stage with countless fellow rock and rollers, including Econoline Crush, Ed Kowalczyk, Trevor Hurst, Said the Whale, The Zolas, and many others, both local and from across the country. Have you seen these guys live? The amount of energy expelled by lead singer Nick Martin alone would run a small city for a day.
Needles to Vinyl’s first full-length album is set to be released in July 2014. Consisting of nine songs written by Nick Martin and recorded with Stew Kirkwood at Sound Extractor Studios in Edmonton, Alberta, the self-titled album coalesces the group’s classic influences and original sound with crystal clarity and powerful bombast. From the locomotive intensity and soaring guitars in “Stumbling with Strangers” to the roots-influenced sound of “When I Was Young,” the album showcases Martin’s dynamic, unique voice and a musical cohesion that can only result from a band that has remained committed to one another and their craft for a decade.
Rock n’ roll is alive and well. Join Needles To Vinyl in their crusade.
