Bio

Neglected Republic is a Virginia-based alternative rock band founded by Chase Kuehn. The band consists of four members: Robin McGrath (lead vocals); Bryan Graff (lead guitar); Jake Unterman (bass & rhythm guitar); and Chase Kuehn (drums, percussion, & backing vocals). All band members met in high school, and play more than one musical instrument:

  • Robin (voice, acoustic/electric guitars, and piano);
  • Bryan (acoustic/electric guitars and ukulele);
  • Jake (bass and guitar); and
  • Chase (drums, guitar, and clarinet).

Neglected Republic performs original material, exploring a diverse range of styles, with a strong emphasis on melody and complex arrangements. The band cites the energy and emotion of Paramore and the musical arrangements of Rise Against and Breaking Benjamin as its primary influences.

The band also covers songs written during the last two decades, and performs both acoustic and electric arrangements of several songs within its catalog. Neglected Republic's playlist reflects the members’ desire to fuse the musical genres of emo, pop punk, alternative metal, and melodic hardcore.

The young band has been performing at local venues, private house parties and local Battle of the Bands in Fairfax County, Virginia. Its fan base consists mostly of teenagers and young adults in that vicinity. The band hopes to perform at larger venues within the DC metropolitan area.
