Bio

English: NEGRAS MUSAS is currently a Jazz Fusion Band that presents an artistic proposal of elaboration and own composition. The material produced by the band includes a fusion quite extensive of styles, basically jazz, rock, bossa, blues and funk, which has jazz as base and agglutinative element. The versatility of the band to move in the fusion of these styles is due to the important and heterogeneous prior experience of the musicians. After deciding to study the jazz language and to incorporate it as fundamental influence, the group achieves a notable growth and definition of a method of work where the act of the composition and the musical arrangement are balanced with the free improvisation. This project begins at the end of the year 1998, although its first results started to be appreciated in the middle of 2001, when the band decides to carry out a demo of independent production, that includes various themes of their own composition, with the special collaboration of Javier Perez in the controls and mixture, who also join the project assisting the band with sound alive. The original project was born out of an undertaking of the guitarist and the pianist, in which sooner joined the drummer. Other members integrated the band making fundamental contributions, like Daniel Spallina (bass and composition), Arturo Milano (saxes), Diego Morilla (saxes), Juan Manuel Angelini (bass) and Juan Flores (bass). From the end of the 2000, Negras Musas begins to travel through the circuit of pubs and auditoriums in Rosario and to present its proposal live. To these self-managed shows they added the participation in the editions 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 of the Rosario Jazz Festival, with good critrics on the part of the specialized press and good answer from the public.
