"Neil Young Tribute at Backstage Capitol"

Neil Young Tribute at Backstage Capitol

Larry Christopher – in a tribute performance to Neil Young – brought the crowd back to 1971 at The Backstage Capitol Theatre in Delhi. It was a convincing recreation of Neil Young’s legendary concert at Massey Hall in Toronto in 1971 during his “Journey Through the Past” Solo Tour.

We met Larry in the Green Room prior to him going on stage and he told snapd: “I’ve been doing Neil Young for a long time now, and have been doing the formal show for five years. I’m a chef by trade and own the TLC Bistro in Barrie. I’ve been playing for as long as I’ve been cooking; 30 years.”

We asked Larry about his reasons for staging a Neil Young tribute: “I love the emotion of his voice, his songs and his words. You can convey that emotion to an audience – it’s calming and exciting at the same time. I’m taking everyone back to 1971 when he was 24.”
The audience loved it – and we did too. Bravo Larry and Bravo Backstage Capitol!

Biography: Of a Neil Young Tribute

Solo / Acoustic Performer

.  Neil’s music has been part of my life ever since I heard him in the early 70’s.

One person, one instrument and one voice.

His music has had the most impact and meaning in my life.

I was born in October 1957, and I am a chef by trade. For the last 38 years, much of my time has been cooking, and raising two children. I have been picking up and putting down my guitar. But it seemed every time I picked it up Neil Young came out. I will never forget the first time I stepped up on a open mic stage. It was at Massey Hall (no not that one). It’s a Pool hall in Barrie Ontario. All I had was my old fender B35. Feeling scared and excited at the same time, I sang 3 songs. When I was done, from then on, I was hooked. That’s when I knew I wanted to become a Neil Young Solo Acoustic performer.12 years later.

 Here I am.
