Canadian singer-songwriter, Nelly Shin, has been enjoying steady exposure as a recording artist with the release of her self-titled debut album in 2005.
With the welcoming spirit of music directors and DJs, within two months of its release, Nelly's record began hitting the airwaves in British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Northwest Territories, Minnesota, North Carolina, California, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, and Maryland. Shortly after Labour Day, Brisbane's 4BH 882 premiered "Marrow of My Heart" and "Dying Heart" in Australia.
Her current single, "Marrow of My Heart", proved its commercial appeal on August 15, when the song started appearing on the recommended rotation list of Eric Norberg's Adult Contemporary Music Research Letter, a publication issued by a radio consulting firm in Portland, Oregon. The song had been tested anonymously the prior week, along with Kelly Clarkson's "Because of You" in front of an AC target audience. Nelly's single was one of two songs that passed from a list of 13 new submissions that weekend. KBPK 90.1 in Fullerton forwarded the track to Norberg after adding "Marrow of My Heart" to the California station.
Nelly's record has also made its way to stations on Live365.com and RadioTower.com from as far as Japan and the UK. Boston's HBN Radio which refers to Nelly Shin on the station's website as "a new rising star" in the soft rock genre.
