Bio

Born in a northern Manitoba mining town, Nelson grew up singing and playing music on the family farm. Spending time quality with his Uncle Keith, who would play a major role in Nelsons life and his songwriting, they would travel all over the province to festivals, talent contests, fundraisers, you name it. Nelson's passion for performing had begun.
Fast forwarded a few years, after winning 1st place in NCI's Country Jamboree talent contest, local band The Mosquitoz scooped Nelson up to join their band. He cut his teeth playing with that band in bars and at festivals throughout Manitoba.  After 2 years Nelson left that band to go find a group of his own. And so a new band was formed, this time with Nelson Little front and centre. 100 Years Rising was soon busier than ever. Playing five nights a week, traveling throughout the province playing festivals, including long time friend Arnold Asham's 'Asham Stomperfest' in Manitoba for six years straight. Opening for acts such as Charlie Major, Fred Eaglesmith, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and Johnny Reid, Nelson was becoming more and more of an entertainer. And people were loving it. As much fun as this was though, there was songwritting inside Nelson that was dying to get out.
After a trip out west to Calgary, making connections with people like Troy Kokol and Joni Delaurier, Nelson sat down and started writing songs about life. About his life, about the hardships of his family, about the funny things in life. Pulling you into his songs with his story like lyrics, he is guaranteed to leave a tune stuck in your head for days.
Nelson's first EP, 'The Little Things", was released in September 2013, and with his next record already underway, there is no sign of him slowing down anytime soon.
