Bio
Nelson came of age in rural upstate New York, and he’s been picking, writing, and gigging ever since. His guitar style has been compared to Mississippi John Hurt and Dave Van Ronk, and his writing to early Bob Dylan and John Prine.
Nelson’s solo career started with the release of Still Burning, an album of ten original songs that harkened back to his folk music days and elicited great reviews (“...it's poetic, it's melodic, it's timeless,” wrote Jean-Jacques Corrio in Le Cri du Coyote).
Nelson’s most recent project, Orphans & Relics, is a Roots Music Report Top 100 Folk Album, and it has captured some exceptional press (“…like listening to a plate of T Bone Burnett,” wrote AltCountry).
Nelson is currently Seattle-based. His current drug of choice is caffeine.
