Excerpt of a review...Show at The Daily Double, Akron, Ohio
“Up next was the biggest surprise of the night, Canton Ohio’s Nemesis3. I’ll admit that until recently, I hadn’t heard much about them. Their song ”She said” was getting some good play on WRQK & WZIP (I found myself humming it in the shower one day...strange) and a friend was preaching the Gospel of Nemesis3 to me after their last show at Sadie’s, but I am a firm believer in “seeing is believing”.
Well folks, I’m a believer! This is not a “local” band; these guys are on a completely different level than most bands I review. Follow me through their set...dark stage, haunting intro-music starts. Then a melodic and also haunting guitar riff cuts through. Deep bass growl pumps in followed by a somewhat tribal rhythm. Then it hits! Like a hurricane, the band launches into “The way”, a hard, melodic song that is both powerful and full of passion.

I followed the masses to the stage and stood & watched Nemesis3 pull off a truly memorable performance. Marc Wasmund (lead vocals and guitarist) belted out hook after hook and is probably the best kept secret in Ohio. He effortlessly lead the band through “Ugly” and “No thanks to you”, heavy hitters with deep-rooted grooves. Energetic bassist Graig Lindgren delivered sweet, low-end melodies all night, especially on “Confide” and “Piece by Piece”. Drummer Dann Singer pounded out the back-beat flawlessly and made me feel sorry for his skins. This guy is huge! He shined on “Suffer the same” and “Look at yourself”. Nemesis3 closed with “She said”, the aforementioned hit song. To say I was blown away by this song is the ultimate understatement. It’s as if the entire set was a great fireworks show and this was the “grand finale”!
The whole evening culminated into this one song. Unbelievable!
More like Believer!
I briefly interviewed the band after the show and from what I gathered, this reaction is the norm. Marc told me that they feel like they are finally “ready to take the next step”. They apparently have had some
lineup changes (Graig just joined in June), but now feel that they finally have landed the “core...chemistry just feels right”. As Dann signed CD’s, he grinned and told me that “this is what I dream about”. They all agree that “every new song we write is stronger then the last”. That’s scary!
Though they are much too humble to tell you themselves, I am here to tell you that you will see them soon on a much bigger stage. Maybe Rolling Stone will hire me to interview the band...what, I can’t dream?” - From Underground Alternative Magazine, September 2007, by Jeremy Bishop
