Feeling a bit camera shy

Since its foundation in 1998, neo, the three-piece Hungarian band, has produced 4 LPs and 8 singles. Some of their musical products have come out in the European, American and Asian market as well. They have appeared as the support band of such great names as Dave Gahan, Duran Duran and Massive Attack. What best describes the style they have evolved is a unique combination of various musical trends like post new-wave and electro-pop, but songs in which indie-pop-like melodies mingle with motives of classic rock also come out of their hands. Apart from music making, with the help of a smaller professional team, neo produces its own videos for their music and other visual projections employed during gigs. The members of the band are especially attracted to vintage musical instruments – synthesizers, electro-equipments and guitars –, which they readily use both in studio and on stage. Their soundtrack abum "Control" (2003) made the band's name internationally-known bringing a great success and many awards into neo's life, along with the chance to break through the Hungarian border. In Fall, 2006, their brand-new LP, “Maps for a Voyage,” (maybe their most mature and unified pop album) has been published by Warner. The songs of this album refer a great deal to the 80s-90s' synthesizer-pop, new-wave and also traditional pop trends, but they also employ a number of daring modern sollutions. The band recorded their album premier gig held in the unique Planetarium of Budapest in October 2006. The fruit of this was an exclusive and rich concert-DVD, ”Planetary Voyage,” out in March, 2007. In the near future, neo is going to tour in several European countries to add some new flavour to the international musical scene.
