"Album Review: NeonNoah’s Reaching For Constellations"

Somewhere between emo retropop and early 2000s pop-punk is where music aficionados would place Dallas-based rockers, NeonNoah. Over the last year, this four-piece has been steadily gaining ground in a scene dominated by bearded, banjo wielding hipsters and hip-hop mix masters. Following the positive response from its most recent musical efforts, the band is now prepped to deliver its crowdfunded debut EP, Reaching For Constellations on Feb. 27, 2015.

The six song EP is tight, not auto-tuned to death and catchy as all-get-out. Co-frontmen Esteban Flores and Conner McKinzie have an unmatched vocal rapport that echoes Motion City Soundtrack’s vocalist Justin Pierre, with more warmth and less cacophony. The remaining members, Jacob Norris and Kaleb Polk, add a glossy, adamantine sound that perfectly highlights Flores and McKinzie’s crooning. As far as singles go, the record contains fan favorites “Heart” and “Disaster”, but don’t skip the intro track “Daylight”.

Reaching For Constellations is equal parts love, heartbreak and the best synth dance party you have ever been to; a pop-infused, rock concoction that will sneak you out of your dorm, keep you up all night partying and then drive you home in the morning.

Bio

NEONNOAH is an indie rock/pop band formed in Dallas, Texas in late 2013 by Esteban Flores, Conner Mckinzie, and Jacob Norris after the trio realized they shared a passion for writing and producing honest music. Following a crowdfund campaign that was successfully funded by 110% and the addition of drummer Derek Schurbon, the band released their debut EP "Reaching For Constellations". The EP has since been featured on radio stations from multiple markets, various music blogs, IRL Box, and as artist of the month on music app Strumly. In July 2015, NEONNOAH partnered with Drum Pads 24 on an exclusive performance video that has gained 20k collective views. The band has also signed a sync licensing deal with global clothing brand O'Neill (Europe). NEONNOAH continues to gain support and has begun work on their sophomore release.
