"Nixa Country says NeonWest has a great shot"

"This artist has an amazing live show and high energy performance. NeonWest has a great shot at breaking away and becoming very successful with a pleasing blend of ballads, and good ole rockin country. The band has a talent that shines through, in every song they perform. It was a pleasure to take the stage with such talent." -

"NeonWest puts on a damn good show"

Maybe you don’t like country. The typical chorus about drinking whiskey and cheating husbands just isn’t your cup of tea. But a good show is a good show. And nobody walking out of the swinging doors after listening to Neon West play is going to disagree that what they just saw was a damn good show. Even on a lazy Sunday, when other LA bands sleep away their Saturday night hangovers and busy themselves at brunch, Neon West is rockin’ the small wooden room that is the Cinema Bar. These country folks are working harder than Dolly Parton’s first training bra, playing great country music from beginning to end. Highlights of this small set included their Top Ten song on, Famous, a classic sounding number that feels like Kenny Chesney with a twist and all shook up. Reminiscent of Sugarland with a fuller band, the rest of the set is tight and ready for radio on either the rock or country dial. Neon West often fills the stage will all sorts of ingredients including a fiddle, keyboard and at times harmonica, but tonight it’s just two guitars, a bass, drums and vocals. The rough edged lead singer Lee Lucas has a uniquely striking voice that isn’t soon forgettable. It won’t be too long until these cozy shows with close friends turn into capacity crowds of besotted Neon West fans.

"Girlistic Review"

“Take a shot of rock & roll and chase it with some country.” The chorus to Neon West’s song Chase It says everything you need to know about their sound. With an affinity for notes that stare you down then turn and run, front woman Lee Lucas rushes you through the two songs recorded so far. Neon West’s CD gives you a quick taste of their upbeat sound that leaves you drooling for more – which you can get when you catch one of their shows. This is an up-and-coming country band that you won’t want to lose track of.

NeonWest Demo EP 2009

NeonWest's music has a swagger, and a style based in the resonant roots of rock and country. It's a major chord with a twang, rounded out by smoky vocals and a tight bottom end. Grab a bucket of beers and gather the friends, ‘cause when the band hits the stage they aim to give you everything they’ve got.
With a new EP out titled simply, “NeonWest,” the band is poised and eager to play every club, saloon and stage they can find to promote it; they live for that spark—that connection with the crowd. With an earnest, energetic style mixed up with heartfelt lyrics on tracks like, “Chase It” (with some country) and “Famous,” audiences will be coming back again and again.

Rick, Lee and Joel are constantly creating, and with an ever-growing and diverse songbook, they are now actively writing for other musical artists in addition to NeonWest. Music is a road worth traveling and they’ve been putting the pedal to the floor since hitting LA. If there’s a thump in your chest and your boot can’t stop tappin’ then you know it’s NeonWest.
