"What's So Good? (3)"

As we boldly march into October and with summer quickly disappearing in our rear-view mirror (at least for those of us here in the Northern Hemisphere), there are two ways that we can deal with the impending new season. We can either drearily pull out our warmer wardrobe as we dream of days at the beach, or we can fully embrace all that fall has to offer.

Thankfully, Dallas producers Neo-Safari and Big Jackson can steer us towards the latter with their brand new collab track “Goodbye Summer.”

Neo-Safari and Big Jackson have definitely found a common ground between upbeat surf-inspired electronica and R&B-fueled chill out, as the two look to dance their way into October. The beat slowly sneaks its way in through some meandering synthesizers, just like a cool and crisp autumn afternoon cutting through the sunshine, while a sample of the Beach Boys “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” plants one leg of the track in the warm sand. The mellow eventually wins out at the end, just as summer surely ends and we accept our fate of sweaters and denim.

Goodbye, summer; you’re really more of a state - Indie Shuffle

"Indie Shuffle Premiere: Neo-Safari's "Neo-Noir" EP"

Dallas-based Neo-Safari first appeared on Indie Shuffle just about a year ago with his bubbly tune “Coastal Cruise.” It was my first taste of the Texas producer’s home brew of future bass and glitch pop. Thankfully, it wasn’t my last.

Neo-Safari just released his new Neo-Noir EP, a notably dark turn from the innocent synths that made up his first two projects. Dan Rogers, the talented man behind the moniker, acknowledges his musical past with cuts like “Dystopian Cruise.” The track, like most of Neo-Noir, rides a chill wave of glitch into a heart of darkness not yet resigned to the joys of love.

Featured track “The Departed” also happens to be the EP’s opening track. With a warped sample telling us “the heartache lives on,” it won’t take long to catch on to Neo-Noir‘s brooding — albeit sexy — ways. - Indie Shuffle (2)

"Track of The Week: Neo-Safari - The Departed"

Neo-Safari is the moniker for Dallas-based producer, Dan Rogers. Following his first EP, released in April, 2012, Neo-Safari released the singles "While Dreaming" and "Love Scene," before debuting the five song EP "Neo-Noir," and this week's Track of the Week feature, "The Departed." The most recent addition to the eclectic Neo-Safari catalog descends into a darker territory. Enjoy the futuristic alternative R&B sounds at work in "The Departed," and look for much more to come soon from Dallas's own Neo-Safari. - See more at: http://houseofplates.com/track/neosafari#sthash.dVcGdpEw.dpuf - House of Plates

"Introducing: Neo-Safari"

Next on today’s introduction posts is american producer Dan Rogers. Ailing from Dallas, Texas this up and coming producer that goes by the alias Neo Safari has a very open mind when it comes to his music creations. Exploring with many genres such as Nu-Disco, French House, Future Beat, Glitch-Hop, Chillwave, Electro-Pop… must be really rewarding on a creative standpoint.

We encourage experimentation with a wide range of sonorities, as an artist or simply just as an avid music listener. Here, diversity is way larger than just music styles or genres but first and foremost diversity means helping to put the right mood or setting to any moment, journey or emotion.

Here’s a few Neo Safari tunes that represent well this Diversity (with a capital D), starting with his French House rework of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” - playitloudurr

"The Imaginative and Unique Neo-Safari"

Okay. I'm officially convinced that there isn't a style of electronic music that Neo-Safari cannot handle. The producer has showed off a wide variety of genres, and his work is always imaginative and unique. For this new release, Neo-Safari gets his hands on Classixx's "Borderline". The original is a great track, but it never really picked up the pace, like I thought it should. Neo-Safari fixes the problem, and adds in everything that "Borderline" lacked, and then some. The outcome is one really classy piece of electro lounge.

A couple of weeks ago, Neo-Safari also released the Neo-Noir EP. I somehow missed that one, because I'm listening now, and I would have definitely featured that project. I'll just go ahead and include it below. It's really good. Enjoy. - The Record Stache (2)

"Unpredictable and Endlessly Interesting"

“Neo-Safari is a giant shroud of mystery. I can't seem to find any information other than that Neo-Safari is based out of Dallas, Texas. I suppose, I'll just have to focus on the music, instead of the mastermind behind it. Let me start of by saying the glitch on this EP is some of the best I've heard. It's unpredictable and endlessly interesting. Neo-Safari is like the jailhouse warden to his music, and the songs are his prisoners. It's as if the songs themselves want to break out into full verses and choruses, but they are confined to their random glitches. Neo-Safari keeps them locked in their electronic cells, behind bars of synthesizers, because he knows that if they were freed from their hopeful glitches, they would be no good to society. The magic is within the glitchy-ness, no verses or choruses needed at all. The EP is a complete joy to listen to. Definitely check this one out.” - The Record Stache

"Neo-Safari - Coastal Cruise"

Just as I was moving on from the Texas music scene, Dallas-based Neo-Safari shows up with his cool name and his cool sound. I’ve been listening to his debut EP nonstop and after countless listens it is time to show Neo-Safari some proper music blog love.

“Coastal Cruise” is a solid intro to the EP as well as to the artist. I want to play this track in the car, at the office, everywhere. Same goes for his Grimes and Tennis reworks. All six tracks on the EP are handsomely crafted and deserve some attention. Be sure to support Neo-Safari and enjoy his video for “Coastal Cruise” below. - Sean Oleary - Indie Shuffle
