Felt like coming home I guess, stripping it all down to exactly what it is. Girl and piano. Nothing more, nothing else. As I am. As I used to be and as I will ultimately always be even if I didn't want.
Darkness. It's what I look for in people and what surfaces in my music. Melancholic-self-observation or abstract mind drivel inspired words. A voice. Songs that stay with you and make you hum them and haunt me in the middle of the night. I love Elbow, Newton Falkner, Bjork, Muse, Elgar, Jeff Buckley and Ella Fitzgerald. I am influenced by all music. Like accents, once in contact with a new one I make it work for me in the back room, when no-one is looking. Steel it and change it and then set it free, on a very long piece of dental floss or something like that.
I love music and making it. I'll be back in the studio in no time recording more. Chipping away at this mountain that I wrote. Getting them all down one by one until I am dead.
Would do it a lot quicker with financial support and management so I'm on the prowl for some of that kinda love.
Come watch me play. I like doing that the most.
