"Local Talent Performs In Ourstage Supestar Soul Search Competiton"

Local recording artist "Ne'sha Da Voice" a native of Bennettsville, SC competed in the Ourstage Superstar Soul Search in Charlotte, NC hosted by former Uptown Records CEO and Former Bad Boy Records President, Andre Harrell, on Thursday, July 8, 2010.

The Ourstage Superstar Soul Search, an online competition, in which local artists post their music and it, is voted on by the online audience. The top 50 artists were chosen and given an opportunity to audition for the grand finale in Atlanta, GA on July 31, 2010. Out of 84,000 entries, Ne'sha's single "Voodoo" continuously stayed in the top ten throughout the entire competition. On June 28, 2010, Ne'sha was notified by email that she was chosen to audition.

On July 8, 2010, the competition begins with 25 contestants performing two selections: one original piece and a classic R&B tune. Each artist was judged by celebrity judges K-ci Hailey (formerly of the group Jodeci), Special Ed (Hip Hop Pioneer), and Andre Harrell. With emotions running high for this young artist, Ne'sha performed her hit single "Voodoo" and Chaka Khan's "I'm Every Woman". With her captivating voice and performance, she was the final contestant to advance to the second round of the competition.

Eleven contestants go head to head competing to advance to the finals. Ne'sha performs a popular song by Whitney Houston. She does an astonishing job leaving the crowd and team of judges in awe. Fans in the audience comment on her performance; how good she is and that she should advance to the finals. But, unfortunately, Ne'sha doesn't make it to the finals. After the finalists were announced, Mr. Harrell yelled out "Where is that South Carolina Girl"-she needs to meet with me after the competition. Sounds as if it isn't completely over for the singer, she left a good impression and a major impact on Mr. Harrell and this audience-why else would he request to meet with her...

Ne'sha acclaims, "This was a wonderful experience for me!" The singer is a native of Bennettsville, SC, the daughter of the late Caroline Dease and Larry Pegues Sr. and the mother of Carl Christopher Roberts, II. She is also the 2009-2010 "Best Female R&B Singer of the Year" sponsored by the Queen City Award Show. Ne'sha is currently preparing to release her well awaited mix tape "Welcome to My World" by the end of July. She is also preparing to launch her first music video for her current single "Voodoo". Ne'sha has been nominated for numerous awards such as the SMES Awards, Carolina Music Awards, and South Carolina Music awards just to name a few. She is also currently working on an album that will launch in 2011 with So So Def producer Victor "Big Vic" Newton and Konvict Music Tim "Krazyfigz" Walls who produced Akon's hit single-Troublemaker.

The sky is the limit for this local artist. She gives all praises to God because it is He who makes all of this possible. She dedicates her success to her family and everyone who has supported her through out her journey.
